With Project Paw Print at Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary, classrooms can symbolically adopt one of our animal residents and receive special updates throughout the school year, including photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes information about their adopted animal.

It’s a fun, no-cost way to bring wildlife education, conservation, and animal care into your classroom while giving students a real animal to connect with and follow all year long.

😇😈 NAUGHTY & NICE OF THE MONTH 😈😇

Bosco and Tango are taking very different approaches to earning this month’s titles.

😈 NAUGHTY: BOSCO
Bosco has been training his keepers to follow his cleaning schedule, making sure they get plenty of steps in while waiting for his official permission to begin. Apparently, he’s appointed himself supervisor of daily operations. 😂

😇 NICE: TANGO
Tango has almost graduated his current training plan! His progress gives him even more choice and autonomy in his medical care. At Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary, training helps our animals voluntarily participate in their own healthcare and is an important part of the individualized care we provide.

One is keeping his keepers on their toes, while the other is showing just how far a little training can go. ❤️

🎳 Turns out, our team needs enrichment too! 🐯💙

Yesterday, the Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary team traded animal care routines for bowling shoes, arcade games, good food, and a little friendly competition during our Employee Appreciation Day!

We talk a lot about the importance of enrichment for the animals in our care. Enrichment encourages activity, problem-solving, engagement, and overall well-being. And while our version might look a little different, people need those opportunities too!

Even something as simple as bowling can be a great team-building activity. It gives us a chance to cheer each other on, laugh together, communicate outside of our normal routines, and strengthen the relationships that help us work better together when we're back at the sanctuary.

Most importantly, yesterday was about our people. 💙

Caring for more the animals of Tiger Creek is rewarding, but it is also demanding work, especially through the Texas summer heat. Our staff and interns show up every day ready to clean, prepare diets, provide enrichment, monitor health and behavior, educate guests, maintain the property, handle the behind-the-scenes work, and do the countless other things it takes to keep Tiger Creek running.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, compassion, and hard work they bring to our mission every single day. And we loved having some of their families join us for the fun too!

Yesterday wasn't about the animals. It was about celebrating the people who make their care possible. 🐯❤️

📣 A Quick Note from Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary

Our team will be stepping away from the office for a company-wide meeting and Employee Appreciation Day for most of today, so we may be unable to answer phone calls or respond to emails right away.

Our staff works incredibly hard every day to provide exceptional care for the animals who call Tiger Creek home. With the East Texas summer heat adding an extra challenge to an already demanding job, we believe it is important to take a little time to recognize, celebrate, and say thank you to the people who make our mission possible. 🐯💛

We will return calls and emails as soon as we can once we are back in the office. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.

Today we're celebrating David! 🎉💚 Happy Birthday to our Lead Maintenance Technician!

David plays an important role in keeping Tiger Creek running smoothly and making sure our sanctuary and the animals who call it home have what they need. We’re so thankful for his hard work, dedication, and the care he puts into everything he does.

We had a great day celebrating David and hope his birthday was filled with plenty of fun, laughter, and maybe a little time away from the tools! 😉🔧

Back to school means back to learning, exploring, and discovering something wild! 🎒🐾📚

At Tiger Creek, we believe some of the best lessons happen outside the classroom. That’s why we offer two school programs designed to bring wildlife education to life:

🐅 Field Trips – Students can visit Tiger Creek for an educational experience filled with opportunities to learn about the animals in our care, conservation, and the importance of protecting wildlife.

🐾 Project PAW-PRINT – Classes can adopt a Tiger Creek animal and follow along with their special resident throughout the school year while learning more about wildlife and conservation.

As a new school year begins, we’re excited to inspire the next generation of animal lovers, educators, and conservationists. 🎓🌎

Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary is now accepting field trip reservations for the 2026–2027 school year!

Trade the classroom for a day of hands-on learning as students explore the world of rescued animals, wildlife conservation, animal care, and the role we all play in protecting wildlife and their habitats. 🐾🌿

Our educational field trips are available for groups of 10 to 150 participants, making them a great fit for public schools, private schools, homeschool groups, and other educational organizations.
