😌 That face you make when you realize you made it to 5 PM on a Friday...

Our sloths have truly mastered the art of relaxation, and honestly, they're showing exactly how most of us feel at the end of a long week! 🦥💚

While our sloth friends may be settling into weekend mode, the work never stops at Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary. Caring for our rescued animals is a 365-day-a-year commitment, which means our dedicated team is on-site 7 days a week providing meals, cleaning habitats, monitoring health, and making sure every resident receives the exceptional care they deserve.

So as you kick back and enjoy your weekend, remember that our staff and volunteers are hard at work behind the scenes keeping the sanctuary running and our animals thriving.

Have a relaxing weekend, everyone—we'll be here doing what we love! 🐅🦁🦥

💦 Meet Zeke, Chief Splash Officer 💦

Zeke takes his job very seriously... or at least as seriously as a coati can.

Keeper Naomi was simply trying to fill the pool, but Zeke decided the splash party should start immediately. Before the water was even finished running, he was already splashing, playing, and having the time of his life!

Water enrichment encourages natural behaviors like exploration and investigation while providing important mental stimulation. For Zeke, it also appears to be the perfect excuse to turn routine pool maintenance into an aquatic adventure.

We're pretty sure if Tiger Creek had a Splash Department, Zeke would be running it. 😆

Have you ever been so excited for something that you just couldn't wait?

🚨 Personal Space? Never Heard of It. 🚨

If you've ever worked around donkeys, you know one thing is absolutely true: your business is their business. 😂

Lucille recently decided that whatever our staff was doing was far too important for her to miss. The result? A series of up-close-and-personal photos featuring her curious eyes, and absolutely no respect for personal boundaries. ❤️

Donkeys are naturally intelligent, social, and incredibly curious animals. They love interacting with the people they trust, and Lucille is always ready to supervise (or perhaps micromanage) whatever project is happening nearby.

We're not saying Lucille is nosy... but if she had opposable thumbs, she'd probably be checking emails and attending staff meetings.

Would you let Lucille be your coworker for a day? 🫏👇

Whiskey has the right idea. 🦊💤

Photo one: trying to stay awake.
Photo two: giving up and embracing the nap.

If you've looked at the clock three times today and wondered how it's still Monday, Whiskey understands. With her head resting on her paws and those sleepy half-lidded eyes, she was already halfway to dreamland before finally deciding a full nap was the only reasonable solution.

Honestly, same.

Who's ready to join Team Nap and fast-forward to the weekend? 😴☀️

There are two types of people in this world…Those who can resist tiny bobcat paws and tiny bobcat bums… and liars. 😭🐾

Boudreaux has officially claimed his tunnel as the ultimate cozy hideout, and honestly? We understand why. One photo gives us the full wittle paws experience, and the other is just a premium view of bobcat tail and tiny fuzzy butt. Nature is beautiful. 😂

Enrichment items like tunnels encourage natural feline behaviors by giving bobcats opportunities to explore, hide, stalk, and observe their surroundings while feeling safe and secure. For rescued wild animals, even the simplest enrichment can make a big difference in keeping them mentally engaged and active.

We dare you to pick which photo is cuter: the tiny paws… or the tiny bum. 🐾

Ever get the feeling someone is watching you? 👀

Nati was feeling extra nosy and just had to see what the keepers were up to around the sanctuary. From supervising cleaning to inspecting enrichment prep, she takes her role as unofficial quality control manager very seriously. 🐅

Big cats are naturally curious animals, and providing opportunities for them to observe, explore, and engage with their environment is an important part of their daily enrichment and welfare at Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary.

Although, we’re pretty sure Nati just wanted the latest sanctuary gossip. 😅

Sweet Pea the raccoon is busy investigating her bamboo enrichment! 🦝🎋 Placing a bamboo branch in her yard encourages natural raccoon behaviors like foraging, manipulating objects with her sensitive paws, and investigating new textures and scents.

Enrichment is an important part of animal care at Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary because it helps keep animals mentally stimulated and engaged with their environment. Sometimes the simplest enrichment items create the most curiosity. Sweet Pea seems to agree. 💚

That moment when you think it HAS to be time to go home on a Friday… then you look at the clock and realize it’s only 3:00 PM. 😝⏰

Honestly, we think this photo perfectly captures the universal Friday afternoon mood with that classic “stinky face.” Absolutely convinced the clock is WRONG. 🐅

Fun fact: This “stinky face” is actually called the flehmen response. Tigers use it to help process interesting scents by drawing them into a special organ on the roof of their mouth for extra analysis!

Thankfully, the animals at Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary don’t have to worry about deadlines… just nap schedules, enrichment time, and snack delivery. 🐾

Who else is counting down the hours until the weekend? 😂
