The Compassionate Friends of Tyler

The Compassionate Friends of Tyler The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age.

The Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. There is no religious affiliation and there are no membership dues or fees. The secret of TCF's success is simple: As seasoned grievers reach out to the newly bereaved, energy that has been directed inward begins to flow o

utward and both are helped to heal. The vision of The Compassionate Friends is that everyone who needs us will find us and everyone who finds us will be helped.

You will never
ever
be the person you were
before
the person you love
dearly
died.

Never.

Ever.

Until you surrender to that truth
you will not heal.

Until you release the energy you focus on trying
to
yearning to
longing to
go back to the life you had
you will not have the energy you need to create
your new life.

You will remain stuck in limbo.
Stuck between lives.
Some people stay there forever.
In that in-between stuck place.

The death of someone you love
dearly
gives you the opportunity to question
everything.

Everything.

It is supposed to.

Positive Affirmations

I will find someone who needs help, and offer my time. Who knows, I might help to save my own life as well as theirs.

I will find myself a haven on earth, a place where, regardless of the state of my mind, my heart can be guided to light and joy.

I will find a place, a room, a chair, a tree, a quiet space in my heart, where I can settle into the conviction that all is for the best and that I am on a path that is concerned with my soul.

I will find a way to rise above pain.

Hold on. Don't stop treasuring your loved one. Don't let the horrible events leading to his or her death wash away all of the things that were good and beautiful about that person's life. As you let go, hold on, as well.

Judy Collins. Singer-songwriter whose son died by su***de.

Soundings

The world may wonder:
are we bound by death,
we who have lost the child
whose breath we shared.

The world should know
though we may cry at night,
we are not strangers
to the are of laughter.

And sometimes
we reach deeper into life.
Has death then left us
with a finer ear
for listening to the song
of other children?

- The Poems of Sascha Wagner

Life is not fair.
You must find a way
to live with an unfair life ----
to live without the one you loved.

You are more aware than before
of what is significant
and what is trivial.

Your beloved lived.
But you're still alive.

The future is worth expecting.

A Valentine of Love
Author Unknown

As long as I can dream,
As long as I can think,
As long as I can have memory...
I will love you.
As long as I have eyes to see
And ears to hear,
And lips to speak...
I will love you.
As long as I have a heart to feel,
A soul stirring within me,
An imagination to hold you...
I will love you.
As long as there is time,
As long as there is love,
As long as I have breath
To speak your name...
I will love you.
Because I love you more than anything in the world.
