Please join the Ucon Fire Department for their Annual 4th of July Firefighters Breakfast 7a.m. - 10a.m. at Simmons Park. The firetruck's siren and the large City siren will sound first thing in the morning to let everyone know to head to the park! Breakfast is given free by the Ucon Fire Department, however donations are greatly appreciated! Hash browns, eggs, pancakes, sausage, orange juice, milk or coffee, plates, utensils, and cups will be provided!

This year, we will also give the America250 in Ucon's Citizenship Scholarships to those students who attend 4 or more America250 events! There will also be a time capsule picture matte that we would like everyone to sign. A picture of the time capsule with this matte will be placed in the City Building, so noone forgets to open it in 2076! The time capsule eventually will be placed at the base of a flag pole in Simmons Park. Let's start this party for the 250th Anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independce off right with a good breakfast and some good times!! See you there!!

Thank you to all who attended our America250 in Ucon Flag Day Celebration! This was the final event for the Passports! We had around 60 people attend!!

We want to thank the Monument Ward for their help with some very nice decorations! Also, Caroline Mackay gave 4 flags to the City to use for decorations. Thank you for such a wonderful donation!

Thank you to the Ucon Fire Department firefighters for the large flag and fire truck for our Pledge of Allegiance.

Thank you to Shelley Andrus for playing Taps prior to the flags being retired! The bugle, used to sound Taps during the flag retirement ceremony, belonged to Wallace Passey, father of Jim Passey. Wallace acquired the bugle while serving in World War II, though the instrument itself dates to the World War I era, approximately 1916.

Thank you to the American Legion Bonneville Post #56 and Commander Robert Skinner for their help with our Flag Retirement Ceremony. We enjoyed learning about and watching the ceremony, and people were able to take a grommet from the flags with them.

A huge thank you to the America250 in Ucon Committee and spouses without whose help this wouldn't have all come together - included in that thank you are special shoutouts to Chief Fullmer, Chief Norman and the entire Ucon Fire Department, Josh Barnes, Jared Morrison, Ronda Deason, and Mayor Johnalee McDonald with the City. THANK YOU ALL!!! We enjoyed everyone's company, playing games, talking, having homemade root beer and popcorn - and even some great cupcakes! We will all get together for our wonderful 4th of July Firefighters Breakfast at which we will give out the Citizenship Scholarships! Can't wait to celebrate our freedom with everyone!!
