I just received the toll charges from Ohio to Pennhurst. 140.00! We didn't spend that much in gas.

This was so cool to see in person.

🚜 Most people driving through southeastern Ohio have no idea that one of the largest pieces of mining equipment ever built left behind a bucket so enormous that it has become a roadside legend.

🏭 The Big Muskie Bucket is all that remains of the gigantic dragline excavator known as Big Muskie, once one of the largest earth-moving machines on the planet. Weighing hundreds of tons, this massive bucket stands as a reminder of the coal mining era that helped power industries and communities across Ohio for generations.

❤️ Have you ever visited the Big Muskie Bucket? Or do you remember seeing the giant machine before it was dismantled? Share your memories in the comments and follow for more hidden landmarks, forgotten history, and incredible places across Ohio.

I love our local history! Here are some stories about Midvale mine #7. If any of you watched or remember the episode of Dead Files they filmed in New Philadelphia, Ohio this is the mine they connected with the haunted home.
A sidebar about that episode of Dead Files, A friend of mine grew up in that house, I am going to see if I can interview her about it and maybe, just maybe she has a picture or two....I'm coming for you Melissa!

Midvale Coal Co.'s No. 7 mine operated from 1942 to 1972, once among Ohio’s largest coal mines.

I have decided the next investigation I am going to feature is The Dennison Depot Museum. There has only been 2 groups to investigate this location. I was in the second and the last. The investigation has been featured on a couple social media accounts, written and published in a book, and we had a event at The Depot to discuss the investigation.

A bit of history for this location.

Dennison is a historic railway station located at 400 Center Street in Dennison, Ohio. The depot was built between 1884 and 1900, and the baggage room was built circa 1912. The station is located midway between Dennison and Uhrichsville, Ohio, and served both communities.
