Speaking of Parks, did you know that the county is currently working on a renovation project with OSMB and ODFW to replace boat docks at Cooper Creek County Park?

It’s just one of the major improvements we’re making across our parks system to enhance safety, accessibility, and recreational opportunities for everyone.

Since 2015, our Board has been laser-focused on turning the Parks Department around — from a time of closures, deferred maintenance, and financial losses (when timber dollars could no longer cushion the budget) to a self-sustaining system that now generates revenue instead of draining it. We’ve invested millions through strategic grants and smart planning — without new taxes on you.

Highlights include:

• Whistler’s Bend: New ADA restrooms, pavilion, river paths, yurt upgrades, and Wi-Fi (~$2M grants)

• Umpqua Dunes RV Park: 3-phase transformation (88 full-hookup sites, cabins, retail) after the 2018 purchase

• Stanton Park: Full upper campground rehab with new RV sites, playground zipline, and parking upgrades

• River Forks: All-inclusive playground, climbing tower, and whale area enhancements

• 8 boat ramps repaired post-2025 floods, plus Cooper Creek dock work this year

• Wi-Fi, life vest stations, and safety cameras, restrooms, showers, pavilions and more at multiple locations

• Windy Cove crab dock reopened in 2025

These aren’t just projects — they’re long-term wins for families, tourism, and our county budget. Day-use fees are gone, and the system is built to last generations.

Call or DM me — I would be happy to show you myself all the work we’ve been doing as a board since 2015. Let’s schedule a personal tour of these parks so you can see the results firsthand.

If you want experienced, results-driven leadership that delivers real stewardship, I humbly ask for your vote in November. Together we’ll keep Douglas County strong.

Right now, our pet food bank shelves are getting pretty low, and we could really use your help. ❤️

Because of your generosity, pets in our community are able to stay fed and with the people who love them most. We never want anyone to have to choose between paying bills or feeding their pets.

When you donate pet food to the shelter, you’re helping in more ways than one! Donations help care for our shelter pets, and any extra food goes directly into our mobile pet food bank to support local families and their animals.

If you’re able to donate a bag, a few cans, or even just share this post, we truly appreciate it more than you know. THANK YOU for helping neighbors keep their beloved pets happy, healthy, and home with their families. 🐾
