The Health Committee advanced A2448 last week for stronger, earlier detection of breast cancer. Sponsored by Assemblywoman Annette Quijano and Assemblyman Reginald W. Atkins, this bill would ensure that when a mammogram is ordered for someone with additional risk factors, providers also order the follow-up imaging they may need at the same time, and that insurance covers it.

FREE BABY DIAPERS & FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS — AUGUST 1st @ 5PM! - Because no family should have to struggle for dignity or basic necessities.

In New Jersey, nearly 1 in 4 women and girls live at or near the poverty line — and thousands miss school or work every year simply because they lack access to essential feminine hygiene products. Meanwhile, 1 in 3 U.S. families struggle to afford diapers, forcing many parents to stretch supplies or go without.

Standing Up for Domestic Workers | Justice, Dignity, and Respect for All

It wasn’t just a rally — it was a movement. Proud to stand with the National Domestic Workers Alliance and Adhikaar to amplify the voices of those who are often overlooked but absolutely essential. 🗣️💙

From the podium to the pavement, we’re demanding dignity, fair wages, and protection for domestic workers — the heartbeat of countless homes and families. 🧹🏡
They deserve recognition, not exploitation. Respect, not silence.

Together, we rise. Together, we fight. Because human rights don’t stop at the front door.

🚨 KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! - Since the President has taken office, he has signed over 10 executive orders regarding immigration. My office has received many calls from concerned residents in our district. It seems that our school systems have experienced a 10% decrease in attendance, as many families are afraid to leave their homes. Honestly, we have been told that the focus is on undocumented gang members however many DACA recipients and their family members have been arrested.

Here’s some critical information to help protect you and your loved ones:

✅ Stay Silent – You have the right to remain silent. Do not answer questions about your immigration status.
✅ Do Not Open the Door – ICE cannot enter your home without a signed warrant from a judge. Ask them to slide it under the door.
✅ Do Not Sign Anything – Without legal advice, do not sign any documents ICE gives you.
✅ Ask for a Lawyer – You have the right to an attorney, but the government won’t provide one—reach out to legal aid organizations immediately.
✅ Document Everything – Record badge numbers, names, and details of the encounter.
✅ Know Your Emergency Contacts – Keep a trusted lawyer’s number and an emergency plan for your family.

📢 Spread the word! Tag friends, family, and community members—knowledge is power!

For legal help and resources, contact orgs like Make the Road NJ, ACLU, or RAICES. Stay strong, stay informed, and know that you are not alone.
