Our sympathy to the Nebraska State Patrol and the family of Trooper Jerry Smith, badge #373, who was killed in the line of duty this morning in Morrill County. Trooper Smith was thought to be the oldest recruit of the State Patrol joining in 2014 and was a decorated Army Veteran serving from 1986-2011.
