👋 Hello everyone! My name is Autumn Pyle (she/her), and I am honored to serve as the Fayette County GSA Director since September 2023. 🏳️🌈
I'm also a proud mom of two amazing young adults who are both members of the LGBTQ+ community. They each came out to me at a young age, one in elementary school and the other in middle school. From that moment on, I embraced my role as a proud mama bear! 🏳️🌈
I'm a Christian woman. Jesus taught that caring for the poor, the weak, and the outcast is a core duty. He said that whatever you do for the least of these people, you do for him. 📖
My love for Jesus and my children have taught me the importance of unconditional love, acceptance, and standing up for others, and my children are the reason I became so passionate about advocacy. 💞
Some of you may have noticed that our group has been a little quiet since last year. My family experienced a difficult season after my mom suffered a stroke. My focus needed to be on caring for her and tending to some personal responsibilities. I truly appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during that time.
I'm excited to say that I'm ready to begin showing up for our community more consistently again. While life can sometimes require us to step back, my commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community in Fayette County has never changed.
The Fayette County Genders and Sexualities Alliance (GSA) operates under the umbrella of the Fayette County Mental Health Association, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to provide a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment for LGBTQ+ residents throughout Fayette County.
We work to strengthen peer, family, and community support while promoting advocacy, education, and access to resources. We strive to raise awareness, reduce stigma, challenge stereotypes and prejudice, encourage self-expression and authenticity, and promote diversity, social justice, and safe spaces where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Whether you are part of the LGBTQ+ community, a family member, a friend, or an ally, you are welcome. I look forward to reconnecting with many of you, meeting new faces, and continuing to build a stronger, more inclusive Fayette County together.
I hope you'll join us as we move forward together. Your presence, support, and voice matter, and I'm excited for what's ahead.
👉 We also have a private Facebook group that I carefully screen every new member request! We all share stories, funny reels, recipes, thoughts, concerns, support, community news, and more! If you think you'd like to join, check it out here... Fayette County GSA Private Group 🏳️🌈💗🏳️⚧️
