Engineer School Enhances Students’ Learning Through Workshop

"A boat doesn’t go forward if each one is rowing their own way." - Swahili Proverb

Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija - On October 23, 2023, the students of Basic Officer Leadership Course 3 (BOLC3) Engineer CL 08 - 2023, Engineer Officer Basic Course Class 03 - 2023, Engineer Non-Commissioned Class Advance Course Class 87 - 2023, and Engineer Non-Commissioned Officer Basic Course Class 114 - 2023 were directed to participate in the Construction Project Workshop programmed by the Engineer School, Maneuver Center, TRADOC, PA. The workshop is in collaboration with the 5th Security Forces Assistance Brigade (5SFAB), US Army, led by CPT EDDIE WARDWELL for the expertise exchange and collaboration of knowledge.

The workshop aimed to provide hands-on experience to the students and put their theoretical knowledge of project implementation into practice. Likewise, it is designed to develop the student's leadership, communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. The students were required to complete various projects as part of the workshop following the Army Engineers' standard operating procedures. During the workshop, the Engineer School students presented actual project proposals and project briefings to the Engineer School Faculty members, along with the team of CPT WARDWELL, who served as observers.

The objective of this collaboration was to exchange proficiency skills and knowledge for wider connections and support in enhancing the Maneuver Center Facilities. The Engineer School ensured that by the end of the workshop, the students would possess the necessary knowledge and skills required to serve as Army Engineer Leaders in the field.

Prior to the collaboration with the US Army, on October 11, the Engineer School issued a Construction Directive to the students. The directive instructed them to repair the Greenhouse building and the E-library of the Maneuver Center. The Construction Project Workshop provided the students with an excellent opportunity to showcase the skills and abilities they learned through their training.

Infantry School, Maneuver Center, FMTA - The students of Basic Officer Leadership Course 3 (BOLC3) Infantry Class 34-2023 have undergone Graded Practical Exercises (GPE) on Field Artillery Operations and Mechanized Infantry Operations to assimilate integration of some capabilities of the Army in the context of Combined Arms operations at the tactical level.

The GPE on Field Artillery Operations prepares future platoon leaders to act as the forward observers of artillery asset in the delivery of accurate indirect fires. They were required to call for fire and make necessary adjustments to timely hit given targets with precision.

Additionally, GPE on Mechanized Infantry Operations lets the students perform the immediate action drills in mounted and dismounted mechanized infantry scenarios.

These GPEs ensure that the students of BOLC 3 Infantry will be equipped with knowledge and skills prior to their deployment on the field as tactical unit leaders. Preparing them to be combat leaders competent in Combined Arms operations at the tactical level will enable them to be ready to address various threats to security.

Rosa, Nueva Ecija which was damaged by the recent typhoon "Karding" last September 25, 2022.

In the profession of arms, women have to keep up and go an extra mile to earn their brothers in arms' respect. What the male soldiers go through in training and what they do for work, women double their efforts to do the same, being in the same line of service where both men and women serve with equal opportunities.

Engineer School, Maneuver Center continues to enhance the skills of their students in terms of technical, combat, construction and leadership. Female Students also excel in Academic and Physical, having the same level of training with the male students.
