Field Study of ENGINEER OFFICER ADVANCE CL 57-2022
Support to Civil Governance is one of the spectrums of Army Operations. Pilipino people expect the Army to fulfill its constitutional role as PROTECTOR of the people and the state.
Our Army Engineer units are in the frontlines of geographically isolated disadvantage areas (GIDAs) as bearer of hope and lasting PEACE to all regardless of beliefs, aspirations and political affiliations. They build schools, roads and bridges to connect people towards peace and development.
Maneuver Center as the leading training institution of the Army endeavors to capacitate all Army Engineers in the field of General Engineering technical and special skillsets as the primary weapons to achieve peace in the countryside.
Field Study of INFANTRY OFFICER ADVANCE CL 164-22.
"We have no further means of organized resistance, we are low on ammunition, have virtually no medical supplies, and our food is all but gone. Our front lines are destroyed and both flanks severely weakened. The situation has become hopeless."
- Gen. Edward King, commander, USAFE 09 April 1942-
This is the primary objective of the Bataan Field Study in relation to the Battle Review and Analysis of IOAC Cl 164-22. During the defense of the Philippine Islands, the students reviewed major military operations and historical events. As part of the combined force, it is their job to evaluate Army doctrine, guiding principles, and current operational concepts.
With the lessons they learned in Bataan, IOAC students will be able to REFLECT, CONCEPTUALIZE, and ACT when it is their duty to defend our freedom, territorial integrity, and national sovereignty.

The Maneuver Center (P), Training and Doctrine Command, Philippine Army took part in CATEX 01-22, which took place from April 17 to 24, 2022.
Maneuver Center, the primary training institution for Movement and Maneuver Warfighting Functions (MMWF) of the Philippine Army, led the seven-day Combined Arms Training Exercise (CATEX). Training centers responsible for other warfighting functions of the Philippine Army, such as Intelligence, Civil Military Operation (CMO), Information Operations (IO), Command and Control (C2), and Sustainment also took part in the exercise. CATEX is organized and designed by the Combined Arms Center, TRADOC, PA as the training integrator of all warfighting capabilities of the Philippine Army. The exercise is a capstone of every training cycle of all Warfighting Centers that conduct trainings for all Philippine Army personnel. The purpose of CATEX is to integrate warfighting capabilities in order to ensure readiness of Army unit in case of crisis or conflict through proper military planning and ex*****on of operations.
The highlights of the exercise are the military decision-making process (MDMP) and the field training exercise (FTX). These two events tested the studentsโ ability to endure mental, emotional, and physical toughness during the entire seven days. Students of Infantry, Armor, and Corps of Engineers were given 72 hours to finalize their plans based on the given mission. While 48 hours were given to execute their approved plan and accomplish their mission. Failure to meet the given timeline means failure of the entire mission.
The MDMP and FTX put emphasis on two imperatives in the learning process for students. One is the theoretical aspect based on established Philippine Army doctrine, best practices, and lessons learned from the field units. The other one is the practical applications of the above-mentioned theories, best practices, and lessons learned. All Knowledges and skills set taught to Infantry, Armor, and Corps of Engineers students were put into practice in actual scenarios. These include mission planning practical exercises, battle drills, close quarter battle (CQB) proficiency, Armor operations and employment proficiency, reconnaissance, Combat Engineers capability proficiency, Engineer route clearance operations, explosives and demolitions, survivability and counter mobility, among others. Another contribution of Maneuver Center in the successful conduct of CATEX 01-22 was the participation of all personnel utilized as role players, observer-controller-trainers (OCT), and exercise control group (ECG).
The Maneuver Center has remains steadfast in the performance of its mission, which is to educate and train company grade officers and non-commission officers of Infantry, Armor, and Corps of Engineers in order to enhance the maneuver capabilities of the Philippine Army. All its efforts are geared towards capability development in support of the Movement and Maneuver Warfighting Functions (MMWF) of the Philippine Army. These are the Centerโs humble contributions to the attainment of TRADOCโs strategic objectives and the Philippine Armyโs vision by 2028.
