Hoosier Dustoff has had an action-packed couple of months! 🚁

During August drill, part of our team was in Gary conducting the annual Flight Medic Process, while the rest participated in the Safety Stand Down in Shelbyville. We’re proud to report the flight medic boards were a huge success — and we’re excited to welcome new medics to the unit!

September drill was just as busy, featuring our annual Spouse Flight, hoist training, and sustainment exercises. Families were invited to tour the facility, observe a patient scenario, get an overview of flight operations, and learn about the critical work of our 15T helicopter mechanics.

The highlight of the weekend? A breathtaking flight for spouses over the Chicago skyline!

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who support our Soldiers. Your continued love, patience, and sacrifice — especially the time spent apart — make it possible for our team to stay mission-ready and serve with excellence. Thank you for being an essential part of the Hoosier Dustoff family! 🇺🇸

AT Mission Complete! 🚁

Over the last two weeks, we successfully completed our Annual Training at Camp Atterbury. Throughout this period, we conducted training and missions that advanced our goal of achieving a high standard of combat effectiveness and deployability.

We worked alongside multiple units within and outside of our Brigade to execute a large-scale Culminating Training Event (CTE) across the state. During this mission, we conducted MEDEVAC operations in an environment designed to test our capabilities while supporting our ground and air partners.

During May's IDT weekend, we conducted a joint training exercise alongside Alpha Company 2-151st, and the 1-137th Assault Aviation Company. On Friday, the Assault Company inserted soldiers from the 2-151st into a training site at Camp Atterbury. On Saturday, the MEDEVAC carried out operations at Camp Atterbury, including multiple 9-line scenarios and hoist operations.

During these operations, two medics completed their 2120 medical evaluations, 2 crew chiefs participated in their first 9-line scenarios, while the 2-151st received on-ground training from crew members covering 9-line radio requests, signaling devices, and hot loading. The hoist aircraft completed multiple lifts, totaling 10 soldiers. All operations were conducted under both day and night conditions.

Altogether, 76 personnel received helicopter training, night vision goggle resets were completed, and hoist resets were obtained. Medical training events were completed for both ground and air crews, and several RL progressions were accomplished for flight medics—enhancing the company’s combat effectiveness and deployability.

We are remarkably fragile. Our mortality is a monster we fight but can never overcome. Today, as we reflect on lives cut brutally short, remember that though life is fleeting, the impact of one well lived is eternal. Live a life full of vigor, virtue, and valor. They did, and we are honor bound to champion their legacies 🇺🇸

Today, we remember the fallen, honor their sacrifice, and reflect on the true meaning of service. From the battlefields of the past to the missions of today, countless men and women have given their lives to protect our nation and its ideals. Let us never take their sacrifices for granted. Their courage, valor, and dedication will always be remembered. 🇺🇸

For those who stood, fought and fell-we will never forget.
