More summer weather headed this way later this afternoon and into tonight is bringing a higher than normal threat for severe flooding. Depending on the speed of the rain systems, parts of Harford could see 2 to 3 inches of rain per hour, possibly more if they stall. The heaviest rains are forecast sometime between 6 and 10 p.m. Thunder, lightning and wind gusts up to 60 mph are also possible. The Harford County Emergency Operations Center will be activated at an enhanced level at 6 p.m.
These storms are a reminder to avoid standing water on the road. Just a few inches can carry away a small car, and an adult.
Make sure to charge your electronics, have an emergency plan (that includes your pets) and an emergency supply kit.
Thanks, and be safe.
