The CAL FIRE / Cameron Park Fire Department Task Force 89, staffed with qualified River and Flood Rescue technicians and Non-Motorized Boat Operators in preparation for the significant rainfall the unit has experienced, took the opportunity between the storms to train with the Bakersfield Fire Department. The BFD’s type two water rescue team is in the greater Sacramento area on a California Governor's Office of Emergency Services due to the elevated threat of water related emergencies. While we hope we don’t have to use our skills, todays joint training better prepares us to work together on a real incident should it occur.

As we recognize National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we thank all law enforcement who work daily to serve and protect our communities. A special thank you goes to CAL FIRE’s Law Enforcement, who play an integral part in our mission to protect the people, property, and natural resources of California. This team works diligently 24/7 to keep our state fire safe by investigating fires, making arson arrests, investigating reports of forest and fire law violations, removing dangerous fireworks and explosives off the streets, conducting surveillance operations, and so much more. Thank you for your service and tireless efforts!
