I want to give a big shout out to my daughter Hannah. Hannah has only been playing softball for 2 years and already has coaches and players asking if she has been playing for a long time. Hannah can hit, plays third base, catcher and pitcher. I do not have her stats yet but I will be posting them later but for now here are some videos and pics of her in a game

Keep your children snug and secure in colder weather. Parents and caregivers typically dress their children in winter coats. But it’s important to know that heavy coats can interfere with the proper harness fit on a child in a car seat.

To keep your child secure in their car seat, pick thin, warm layers, and place blankets or coats around your child after the harness is snug and secure for extra warmth. This applies to babies and children in all car seat types.

Let’s work together to keep our children safe on our roadways! Share this reminder with family and friends.

Here at Injury Prevention, we serve the people of the Comanche Nation Enrolled Tribal members and their families. Our mission is to provide education on traffic safety, proper installation of car seats along with fire, hot and cold weather training to our community. We also issue fire extinguishers and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. If you have any question about your car seat, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors please give us a call and we will be happy to help while supplies last. We are currently out of fans and do not have a time for new ones to come in.

July is UV Safety Month and here is some information for you to read about UV Safety.

Studies show that long-term exposure to bright sunlight may increase the risk of cataracts and growths on the eye, including cancer. UV rays reflected off sand and water can cause eyes to sunburn, potentially resulting in temporary blindness in just a few hours. The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) reminds the public of the importance of shielding eyes from the sun’s harmful rays with 100% UV-blocking sunglasses and broad-brimmed hats.

We had a pretty good turn out at our car seat event on Friday May 30 2025. Comanche nation Injury Prevention would like to that everyone who came out and showed support and for those tribal members that attended our event and received a car seat, fire extinguisher, smoke/carbon detector, or a fan from our program. William Owens and myself are working on a plan to possible do an event like this every month or every two months. Also Injury Prevention is also working on doing more than just car seats, smoke/carbon detectors, fire extinguishers and fans. We also want to start giving safety classes on fire, heat, cold weather training as well. We are also trying to make sure that everyone that comes to our events or just comes to our office to get any of these items understands the proper way to install a car seat and how to properly use a fire extinguisher and install smoke detectors if needed.

Thank you to all tribal and non tribal members that came to our event.
