Texas’s abortion ban puts families and law enforcement in an impossible position. Law enforcement should be focused on investigating abusers, not doctors giving life saving support, including to survivors of domestic violence and support.

Council Member Abbie Kamin's comments the night of the #UlvadeMassacre on March 24, 2022.
An 18-year-old was legally able to obtain assault rifles, because Governor Abbott signed HB 1927, also known as ‘permitless carry’ into law. State lawmakers dangerously touted this would make Texas a ‘Second Amendment sanctuary state.’
While our nation mourns, our Governor will be giving a keynote address at the National Rifle Association’s Convention here in Houston. The NRA has dubbed it a ‘celebration’ for ‘the entire family’ as they ‘showcase over 14 acres of the latest guns and gear,’ military-style weapons that have been used to slaughter children.
#RamadanMubarak to all in #DistC who are celebrating this beautiful month. May this time bring you peace, harmony, and reflection.
