For over 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lakeshore made an incredible impact on the lives of children in the Michigan lakeshore counties of Ottawa, Muskegon, Oceana and Mason. Together with our volunteer mentors, we inspired and defended every kid’s potential. We are so grateful for everyone who was a part of our history.

Unfortunately, our agency ran out of funding and closed on June 30, 2023. Our board worked behind the scenes trying to connect with supporters and donors to set up an opportunity for our neighboring BBBS agency to expand into our service area and take over where we left off. That effort was not successful.

But we’re not quite done yet.

Kids still need help, and we know mentoring works. We’re using our remaining resources to build up other organizations so the work gets done. Because we still believe in every kid’s potential.
