Our district deserves a representative who fights for your health, not a career politician voting to take away care from nearly a quarter of a million of his own constituents.

While my campaign is traveling across CA5 on our Summer Town Hall Tour to address rising medical costs, Tom McClintock is in Washington rubber-stamping bills that threaten the very health of our community. Data shows that nearly 247,000 residents in California's 5th District rely heavily on Medicaid (Medi-Cal) and CHIP for their healthcare. That is roughly 32% of our entire local population: our children, our grandparents, and our hardworking neighbors.

Yet, look at what McClintock’s record means for us:
--The "One Big Beautiful Bill" (H.R. 1) Gutting: McClintock proudly voted for the extreme reconciliation bill, H.R. 1. The law slashes a staggering $1 trillion from the healthcare system, directly targeting Medicaid funding with strict work-reporting requirements and provider caps.
--Dismantling the ACA: He previously voted for the AHCA (H.R. 1628) to strip away the Affordable Care Act, a move designed to skyrocket premiums and eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions.
--Blaming the Voters: When constituents confronted him about losing their care, he publicly dismissed them, claiming the only people losing coverage are those who "refuse to get up off the couch".

The damage from McClintock's H.R. 1 vote is a ticking time bomb. The deepest cuts don't take full effect until January 1, 2027, meaning the worst is still to come. Experts warn it will trigger widespread hospital downscaling and push our already vulnerable rural healthcare infrastructure to the absolute brink.
