The 416th Theater Engineer Command (TEC) is a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Reserve Command that conducts theater-level engineer operations supporting a joint force executing unified land operations while providing a trained and ready combat-capable force supporting mission requirements. Headquartered in the Chicago suburb of Darien, the 416th TEC has deployed in support of Operations

Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. The 416th TEC leads 135 units in 37 states across the United States, encompassing three brigades, 15 battalions, and more than 13,000
Soldiers. The unique capabilities of the 416th TECs include: tactical through strategic-level engineer mission command experience, skilled civilian and military engineers, modular deployability, theater-level planning, and coordination expertise, reach-back capability to CONUS-based engineer resources and executing unified land operations. During combat operations, the 416th TEC exercises mission command over a wide range of units covering the full spectrum of engineering missions. The 416th TEC serves as a principal engineer force provider and engineer planner for CENTCOM, EUCOM, and AFRICOM.. General Information

Training how we fight!

Recently, our 341st Multi-Role Bridge Company, 401st Engineer Company, 961st Engineer Battalion, and 420th Engineer Brigade participated in Operation Hood Strike 26, which fosters interoperability between the Regular Army, the Army Reserve, the National Guard, and the Canadian Army.

Additionally, the 671st Engineer Company (Multi-Role Bridge), our validating unit, received a T in all of their objectives.

1SG Hubert sends: Last month, we conducted our 3rd Annual Lethality Academy at Fort McCoy, bringing together representatives from 24 of our downtrace units and two additional MSCs.

Over the course of six days, students completed 80 hours of instruction focused on range operations, weapons qualification procedures, and instructional methods for all weapons qualification tables. Participants also trained and qualified on five different weapon systems.

Through challenging and realistic training, students achieved an average qualification rate of 72.6% across all weapon systems, many of which they had never previously operated.

I am confident the knowledge and skills gained during this course will be shared throughout their respective units, improving range planning and ex*****on while continuing to increase IWQ and CSWQ qualification rates.

Congratulations to the 647th RSG, because SGT Klommhaus, SGT Mysak, SPC Gavitt, PFC Lanthrop, and PFC Vanleeuwen took home the TEC’s best squad win!

But wait – there’s more:

Congratulations to the 301st MEB, because SSG Nelson, SSG McNearney, SGT Zacarias, SPC Gardner, SPC Hernandez, SPC Baca, and SPC Calvillo took home the Iron Mike Competition Trophy!

We know each of you will represent the TEC well at the next level!

MG Kokaska and CSM Lamberson met with our TEC soldiers from the 350th, 659th, and 744th, who are supporting the southern border operation — nine Soldiers were coined for their extraordinary achievements.

And we’re off! The 416th kicked off our best squad completion with an AFT.

Participating units this year are 301st MEB, 420th Engineer Brigade, 372nd Engineer Brigade, and the 647th RSG.

Concurrently, the 301st, 372nd, and 420th have sent firefighter teams — competing in the new Iron Mike Competition.
