Marble Arvidson, 17, was last seen on the afternoon of August 27th, 2011, leaving his Brattleboro residence. Marble is an avid hiker and reportedly took his hiking boots with him. It may be possible that Marble became a victim of Tropical Storm Irene as this major storm hit on the same day Marble was last seen.

There has been some reported sightings of Marble in the Brattleboro area since he was last seen but nothing has been confirmed at this time and he remains listed as a missing person, anyone with any information on this case is asked to call our Westminster office at 802-722-4600.

Today is the anniversary of the last reported sighting of 35 year-old Ashley Goodrich who was last seen in Fair Haven on August 26th, 2021, and was reported missing on December 29th, 2022. There are concerns for her well-being and anyone with any information is asked to call the Fair Haven Police Department, or our Rutland barracks.

Today marks the anniversary of the discovery of the remains of 25 year-old Marsha Lamonda, who was reported missing on July 6th, 1977 to the South Burlington Police Department. She had been last seen a week earlier. Her body was discovered 10 years later, on August 25th, 1987 off Bean Road in Charlotte.

Her death was determined to be a homicide, which remains unsolved. Anyone with any information on this case, or any other unsolved homicide, is asked to contact our Major Crimes Unit .http://vsp.vermont.gov/unsolved/homicide

After 8 years of service with the Vermont State Police, Explosive Detection Canine Corrie is retiring from duty.
Partnered with Sergeant Steven Gelder, Corrie served with the VSP Bomb Squad, protecting dignitaries and major events across New England. Beyond her work protecting others, Corrie also brought comfort to children and young adults during interviews at the Child Advocacy Center in Rutland.
Thank you, Corrie, for 8 years of dedicated service. Enjoy your retirement.

Today marks the anniversary of the deaths of Elizabeth & Thomas Whittemore, husband and wife, who were found deceased in their car on Fire Hill Road in Pittsford on August 24th, 1968. Both had been shot to death. Their deaths were determined to be homicides, and remain unsolved.

Today, Detective Lieutenant Michael Studin retires after 23 years of service with the Vermont State Police. Beginning his career in 2003, Michael worked as a Trooper on patrol and eventually was promoted to a Sergeant and Patrol Commander. He received a Director’s Award for his work with the Traffic Safety Unit and later found his home in the Criminal Division serving as a Detective Lieutenant and a commander in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations. Michael brought leadership, experience and unwavering commitment to the people of Vermont. Congratulations on an outstanding career, thank you for your service, Michael. Enjoy your retirement.

Today marks the anniversary of the reported disappearance of 40 year old Elwyn White, who was reported missing on August 21st, 2001 by his roommate. His remains were found in a shallow grave off the Berlin Pond Road in Northfield by a turkey hunter on May 1st, 2002.

His death was determined to be a homicide, which remains unsolved. Anyone with any information on this case, or any other unsolved homicide, is asked to contact our Major Crimes Unit.

On August 21st, 1993 - After a day of shopping with a friend in Burlington, 41 year-old Audrey Groat was reportedly dropped off at her vehicle at the park and ride near Exit 8 in Montpelier. Her car was later located parked in the same location, and her purse was located in nearby bushes.

Various searches have been conducted throughout the years in a number of areas near where Audrey had been seen, but no new evidence has been discovered. Audrey remains listed as a missing person, anyone with any information on this case is asked to call our Berlin office at 802-229-9191.
