Okeechobee Healthy Start Coalition The program focuses on common issues or conditions that occur during pregnancy or in infancy.

Healthy Start provides education, support and proven interventions to expecting and new families who are at-risk of a poor birth outcome or delay in development.

We are proud to recognize Casey Thompson, Nurse Practitioner and owner of Zen Medicine in Okeechobee, as a Royal Sponsor for our Father-Daughter Dance. 👑💕

Through Zen Medicine, Casey has spent the last several years serving Okeechobee with a focus on functional medicine, helping individuals get to the root cause of what may be keeping their bodies from functioning at their best. Her approach is centered on listening, understanding each person’s priorities, and working together toward improved health and wellness.

☀️ Summer break is here, and moms, we know the days can feel long.

The kids are home, routines are changing, and finding even a little time for yourself can feel impossible. This is your reminder that you deserve a moment to breathe, talk, laugh, and connect with other moms who understand.

Join us Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM for our moms’ group.

📍 103 SW 3rd Ave, Okeechobee, FL 34974

Come as you are. Bring the kids. Sit with other moms who get what this season feels like. There will be real conversation, encouragement, and a welcoming space to just be yourself.

A free children’s group will be available at the same location, so your little ones can enjoy a safe and fun space while you take a little time for yourself.

Summer can be busy, loud, and a lot to carry. You do not have to do it alone. We would love to see you there. 💛

Expecting or recently had a baby? This event is for you. 💕

Join us for our Doula Lunch & Learn on Saturday, June 13th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Okeechobee.

This free lunch and learn is a great opportunity to learn what a doula is, how doula support can help during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and what local services are available to support you and your family.

We’ll cover:
✨ What a doula does
✨ Why doula support matters
✨ Available labor and postpartum services
✨ Mental health and emotional wellness
✨ Comfort measures for pregnancy and birth

Lunch will be provided, and all are welcome, including expecting parents, new parents, partners, and anyone who wants to learn more.

Spots are limited, so please RSVP today to reserve your seat!

What a great turnout at our FREE CPR Educational Class ❤️👏 The classroom was completely full, and we are so thankful to everyone who attended and took the time to learn these lifesaving skills.

A big thank you to Okeechobee Fire Rescue 🚒 and the Okeechobee Library 📚 for hosting and helping make this class possible!

A dream years in the making is officially rolling into Okeechobee County. 💙🚌

After months of collaboration through our community task force and more than 32 years of serving local families through maternal and child health advocacy, we are proud to welcome the MOM Mobile Bus as it begins services TODAY at the Okeechobee County Library.

For rural families, access to care can often feel out of reach. Today, that changes. What once started as an idea and a shared vision is now rolling into our community on wheels, bringing support, resources, and care directly to the families who need it most.

Take a look at some of the photos and videos from Friday’s community bus tour, where the community had the opportunity to explore the new mobile unit and hear directly from our Nurse Practitioner and Director of Clinical Services about the services and support the MOM Mobile Bus will provide.

Thank you to every partner, advocate, and community member who helped make this moment possible. We are excited for this next chapter and for the impact this free mobile service will have on local mothers, children, and families.

🚐💗 The MOM Mobile Clinic is coming to Okeechobee TOMORROW!

Prenatal & postpartum care is available every Tuesday from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Okeechobee County Library. Services are free for anyone who is pregnant or postpartum, with care provided by midwives and nurse practitioners. Services are also available in Spanish and Creole.

Walk-ins are welcome, or call 772-410-4114 to schedule a visit.
