Today is the big day! Please join us on September 26th for the 4th Annual Men’s Health Fair, an event that holds a special place in my heart. As a proud prostate cancer survivor, I understand the importance of early detection and raising awareness about men’s health issues.
This year, the event will take place at 6320 Dorchester Ave., from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. We will be offering PSA screenings, health assessments, immunizations, and a variety of free giveaways.
The reality is that men’s health issues can arise at any time, and it’s crucial that we take the necessary steps to prioritize our well-being.
The Men’s Health Fair is an opportunity for us to come together as a community and learn about the resources available to us.
I invite you all to join us for an informative and inspiring evening, where we can support one another and take charge of our health. Together, we can make a difference in men's health and wellness.

Today was a momentous occasion as I stood alongside my esteemed colleagues to address the press and announce the launch of Cook County Birthday Resolutions. This project, which is close to my heart, will provide Cook County residents with the opportunity to receive free mammograms and prostate screenings during their birthday month. By prioritizing preventative care, we aim to extend lives and give families more time with their loved ones.
I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all those who contributed to making this initiative a reality, including the incomparable Commissioner Frank J. Aguilar, Commissioner Alma E. Anaya, Commissioner Scott Britton, John P. Daley, Commissioner Bridget Degben, Commissioner Monica Gordon, Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller,
Commissioner Kevin B. Morrison , @ Commissioner Anthony Quezada, @Commissioner Michael Scott Jr., Tara Stamps, @Commissioner Maggie Trevor and @Martha Gely-Kruto, Toni Preckwinkle . Together, we strive to raise awareness for this crucial cause and make a positive impact in our community.

🌟 September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month 🌟
As a cancer survivor, I know how critical early detection is. This Thursday, the Cook County Board of Commissioners will vote on my "Birthday Screening Resolution," which would provide free mammograms and prostate screenings to residents during their birthday month.
Early detection saves lives. I’m fighting to make sure everyone has access to timely diagnosis and treatment. Let’s come together and make a difference for our community’s health!
A heartfelt thank you to @CBSChicago and the @AmericanCancerSociety for sharing my journey as a prostate cancer survivor during #ProstateCancerAwarenessMonth. Early detection truly saves lives, and I’m beyond grateful for the chance to shine a light on the critical importance of regular screenings and the resources available to those impacted. Together, let’s continue raising awareness and supporting one another! 💙

On Saturday, August 24th, we had the distinct honor of dedicating a basketball court in memory of Kobe and Gianna Bryant. We are deeply grateful to Vanessa Bryant for providing our community a place to play and remember them.
This historic event was a culmination of the collective efforts of numerous individuals, including 5th Ward Alderman Desmon Yancy, Toni Preckwinkle, Lauren Gillian, Tim Brennan, Mike Holder of Operation Basketball, and referee Jim Capers. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Rufus Williams of WVON 1690AM - The Talk of Chicagon for his role as our MC.
Their unwavering dedication and hard work have given us a space where we can unite to celebrate the love of the game and honor the memories of Kobe and Gianna. We are profoundly grateful for their contributions and the opportunity to pay tribute to these extraordinary individuals.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all involved in making this Court Dedication a reality. Your efforts have created a lasting legacy that will inspire and bring joy to our community for years to come. #KobeBryant #GiannaBryant #CourtDedication #Basketball #Community #legacy #TeamLowry#commissionerbilllowry
