How about this for a Throwback Thursday? 40 years ago yesterday, HPL celebrated the transition to an automated circulation system – meaning we began using computers to track checkouts! Corinne Benfield (Board President at the time) was the first person to check out a book using the new computer system. It was described: "A bar code, like those found on most retail merchandise, is taped to each processed book as well as to the new patron library cards."

Happy (almost) 4th of July! 🇺🇸 The Library will be closed on Fri, Jul 4 and will re-open for normal hours on Sat, Jul 5.

Book drops will remain open for you to return materials while our Drive-up Window is closed.
