Last night Chenango Ambulance had the pleasure of holding our annual banquet.
The year of 2026 marks 50 years since the original iteration of our company (Chenango Volunteer Emergency Squad) was founded. While Chenango Ambulance has faced several challenges throughout the last 50 years, our volunteers continue to show up with the same positivity, dedication and exemplary service which the agency was founded. We were proud to host several members of CVES for the evening to honor their contributions to our agency and its history. Without the foundation that was built by CVES, Chenango Ambulance would not be where it is today.
During the banquet several of our members were honored for their achievements throughout this past year:
5 years of Service: Sydney Tse
10 years of service: Lucas Gaworecki
15 years of service: Greg Ellis
Life membership/20 years of Service: Matthew Griswold
Most Calls as an Aide: Greg Ellis
Most Calls as a Driver: Robert Croswell
Most Calls as a Crew Chief: Erin Skinner
Probationary Member of the Year: Holly Halladay
Provider of the Year: Ian Reicher (accepted by former Assistant Chief Luke Gaworecki)
For their lifesaving efforts throughout this past year the following individuals were recognized:
Cardiac Arrest on April 24. 2025: paramedic Adam Puzio (not pictured), EMT Holly Halladay, EMT Cody Kniskern, EMT Casey Lada (not pictured)
Cardiac Arrest on November 3, 2025: paramedic Devaughn Bryant, EMT Holly Halladay, Driver Robert Croswell
Cardiac Arrest on November 16, 2026: EMT/paramedic student Holly Halladay, Observer Gigi Makwana (not pictured), Driver Robert Croswell, assisted by Superior Ambulance paramedic T. VanNorman (not pictured)
Pediatric Cardiac Arrest on July 18, 2025: Paramedic Devaughn Bryant, Paramedic Matthew Griswold, EMT/paramedic student Erin Skinner
Without the quick thinking and dedication of these individuals, 4 individuals would not be here today. Great job and congratulations to all. Chenango Ambulance would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to all members past and present for their contributions to our agency and service to the community. We wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for our volunteers.
