The Navy has ordered all ships and aircraft to prepare for the arrival of Tropical Storm Idalia.

Ships will begin departures from Naval Air Station Mayport today and tomorrow or complete heavy weather mooring if required to stay in port. Aircraft will initiate evacuations from area airfields or be secured in hangars rated to withstand hurricane-force winds.

"Hurricanes and tropical storms are inevitable in Northeast Florida," said Rear Adm. Jim Aiken, U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command & U.S. 4th Fleet. "We've planned, practiced, and reviewed prior years' storm responses and time and time again early preparation has led to safe ex*****on."

Happy Women’s Equality Day! 👮👩‍🚒👩‍✈️👩‍⚕️⚓️🇺🇸

- The first women to serve in the U.S. Navy were nurses, beginning with the “Sacred Twenty” appointed after Congress established the Navy Nurse Corps on 13 May 1908.

The first large-scale enlistment of women into the Navy met clerical shortages during World War I, and the second came months before the United States entered World War II. President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed , creating the Navy’s women reserve program on 30 July 1942, which paved the way for officer and enlisted women to enter the Navy.

On 22 February 1974, the Navy designated the first woman as an aviator. On 7 March 1994, the Navy issued the first orders for women to be assigned aboard a combatant ship, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower . Today, women serve in every rank from seaman to admiral and in every job from naval aviator to deep-sea diver.

For the US Navy. I was gunnersmate in Vietnam on a destroyer. I heard the navy has problem with covid 19 on board ships. There is something natural and totally save that has been used with very promising results in a hospital and a prison setting. It is readily avaliable from many sources. If it were at least used in ship-board cooking it may very well help to Control Covid 19. Since it is also good for the body the navy would have nothing to lose and possibly much to gain by trying it. Please read the following post. Copy and paste or forward to whoever needs to see it. - - - - Covid 19 is a lipid (fat) encapsulated virus. There is something natural which has been used in a hospital and prison setting with very promising results. It is easily available to most people through a local market or health store and when made available in the body, migrates to and is absorbed into the lipid encasement destabilizing it and thus destroying many viruses and other similar microorganisms. This process is effective even against supergerms resistant to antibiotics. MCFAs (medium chain fatty acids) such as Lauric Acid (C-12), Capric Acid (C-10), Caprylic Acid (C-8), and the monoglycerides of these MCFAs such as monolaurin, monocapry and monocaprin are known to be highly antimicrobial and this is one way it may be done. All that were mentioned here are involved in what follows. Please read - - - -It looks like there is a distinct possibility protection and possibly a cure for Covid 19 may be avaliable. Governments around the world should be promoting this. --- Ongoing trials by DOST reveal virgin coconut oil’s promising results on treating, managing COVID Virgin coconut oil can possibly help prevent, manage and treat COVID-19 patients, research says. ANCX | Aug 03 2020 The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is currently doing trials to see how effective VCO is in combatting the COVID-19 virus, but have noted promising results. As trials for coronavirus vaccines are still underway, we are left with no choice but to simply wait and do the necessary safety precautions—wear a mask and a face shield, wash our hands thoroughly, and observe physical distancing. But what if we add another to-do? According to Dr. Fabian M. Dayrit, president of the Integrated Chemists of the Philippines, we’ve got something locally available that can help prevent, manage, and treat novel coronavirus patients—virgin coconut oil (VCO). The doctor has been doing his studies on coconut oil for over 15 years. “There are two general strategies against viral diseases. First, to develop drugs which are directly antiviral, and second, to use the body’s own immune system to defend [itself] against the virus,” noted a research by Dr. Dayrit and Dr. Mary T. Newport, a neonatologist, international speaker, and an advocate for using coconut oil. According to Dr. Dayrit, there are enough studies to prove that VCO has antiviral and immunomodulatory properties. Upon ingestion, coconut oil produces lauric acid and monolaurin, two compounds which have been known for many years to have significant antiviral activity. Dr. Jose Mondejar, medical director Equilibrium Integrative Health Clinic, who had reached out to Dr. Dayrit regarding his VCO studies, gave the oil to 69 residents of Sitio Luz, Barangay Zapatera. They were among the first COVID-19 patients of Cebu City in April. They initially took 1 tablespoon of VCO twice a day, which later increased to thrice a day, he said in an interview with DZMM. Within 2 weeks, 45 of the 69 patients tested negative, while 24 did not develop worse symptoms. Similarly, VCO is also credited for keeping the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) COVID-free. After taking VCO starting May 15, 7 jail workers with COVID-19 tested negative for the pathogen within a week. Three other workers tested negative within 8 days, he said. The jail has not tallied any new case of COVID-19 since. Dr. Dayrit, who’s also a professor at the Ateneo de Manila University-School of Science and Engineering's chemistry department, clarifies that these are not clinical studies. “They were invited to treat people, not to do a study. What we did was to gather data so that it can be explained more rationally. In 30 days, [the confirmed COVID positive patients] were all eventually negative,” said Dr. Dayrit. - - - Although what you just read used virgin coconut oil most types of coconut oil have the same properties and should get the same results. Please consider the fact that 7 jail workers with Covid tested negative within a week and 3 others within 8 days after taking coconut oil with no subsequent new cases. It at least appears coconut oil may very well protect against covid 19. Consider that 45 of 69 Covid hospital patients were negative in two weeks and the rest within 30 days. One can cook with coconut oil. It does not create body damaging free radicals like most cooking oils and the saturated fat is of a type good for the body. ADDITIONALLY Coconut oil requires no insulin or bile to metabolize providing instant energy which is really good for athletes. It detoxifies the body of many deadly toxins, is highly anticancer and greatly improves nutrient absorption helping to alleviate malnutrition. The medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs) in coconut oil kill many deadly viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites yet is totally safe. The MCFAs in coconut oil kill candida which is normally held in check by friendly intestinal bacteria but runs amok when antibiotics kill off the friendly intestinal bacteria. Coconut oil does not harm the friendly intestinal bacteria and should be taken in conjunction with any antibiotics. Everybody should probably be taking coconut oil.
