Congrats to our SGA President and NFC Student of the Year!

Congratulations to our Student Government Student of the Month for April... Lillian Clay from North Florida College! Lillian was nominated by her advisors, Denise Bell and Melanie Morgan! Here is what they shared with us about Lillian:

"Lillian Clay has served as the SGA President for the last 2 years. During this time, she has been instrumental in strengthening the structure and presence of SGA by elevating meetings to a more formal and professional standard, including organizing them within the college’s boardroom setting and ensuring procedural integrity. Her leadership reflects a respect for shared governance and student voice. Her leadership in planning SGA events, such as the annual Halloween escape room event, reflects both creativity and attention to detail, resulting in an engaging and well-executed experiences for our students. She was instrumental in last year’s service project bringing about awareness for distracted driving after tragedy struck a member of our NFC family. She helped create a one-day leadership program for our area high school students so they can experience the college side of student government.

Lillian is consistently engaged, always willing to volunteer her time for on and off campus events. She actively participates in student life, including involvement with the Gaming Club, and plays a key role in creating meaningful student experiences. As a peer tutor in the library and a regular presence in the Kelly Fitness and Wellness Center, she models a well-rounded and engaged student experience. She also represents the student body with confidence and poise, addressing the college’s district board of trustees and earning first place in the Florida Sunshine State Debate competition. Lillian embodies what it means to be a Sentinel - engaged, driven, and committed to making a difference. She represents North Florida College with excellence, and we are proud to nominate her for the SGA Student of the Month."

Congratulations, Lillian! Thank you to Ms. Bell and Ms. Morgan for nominating her for this recognition!
