In Her Boots Program Provides Service Members with strategies for thriving as a woman in the military & MST Prevention. We address the good, the bad, and the ugly.

This program attempts to bring out issues or challenges into the open in a non- hostile environment while providing education, empowerment, and inspiration for female Service Members, with a variety backgrounds and experiences. This program is driven by Female Service Members for Female Service Members outside of the chain of command, allowing Female Service Members to make connection and open up

without fear of reprisal. The In Her Boots team consist of former Service Members that understand missions and military cultural – we are not paid actors or lectures. Our members consist of former Commanders and Sergeants Majors who clearly understand the issues and challenges and truly care about the success of our military. With over 200 years of combined experience, there is not much we have not navigated through. Face it --men and women are different, we are physically different and we communicate differently--putting on a uniform doesn't change that. No topic is off limits. BLUF: We all want to serve proudly and accomplish the mission. Sometimes, having a Female mentor available can make that journey a little bit easier. ENDSTATE: Motivated, Educated, Empowered and an Inspired Female Service Member accomplishing the mission.

. Awesome Example of Integrity

Remember this Kenyan runner Abel Mutai who was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped, thinking he had completed the race. A Spanish runner, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him and, realizing what was happening, started shouting at the Kenyan to continue running. Mutai didn't know Spanish and didn't understand. Realizing what was taking place, Fernandez pushed Mutai to victory.

A journalist asked Ivan, "Why did you do that?" Ivan replied, "My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win."
The journalist insisted "But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win. The race was his." The journalist insisted, and again asked, "But you could have won!" Ivan looked at him and replied, "But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor in that medal?
What would my Mother think of that?"

Values are passed on from generation to generation.

What values are we teaching our children?

Let us not teach our kids the wrong ways and means to WIN.

Instead, let us pass on the beauty and humanity of a helping hand. Because honesty and ethics are WINNING!

Go In Courage
The most beautiful n classy gesture!!

PTSD Treatment: Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB)
60 Minutes Segment
This series of posts is about a treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB). SGB is an extremely effective 20 minute procedure, using only local anesthetic, that may be able to “turn off the static” and help people with PTS get off or reduce many of their meds, without talking about or revisiting their trauma.
This procedure has been safely used for pain management since the 40’s. It recently began being used for PTS. It is presently only available at a few Military and VA Medical Facilities.
We need to help spread the word about this to let anyone suffering from PTS know about it.
Also, to get it covered by insurance. Presently, it is not even covered by Tricare, the military’s medical insurance.
Help spread the word

Lisa, Thank you so much for your special attention to getting my girl her boots for her birthday and her 13th year in the USAF. She absolutely loves them!
In the photo is her with her boots, on the right, and on the left is her all ladies crew when they were in "the stan" a few years back.
Again, my heart felt thanks for all you do and are doing. Know we support you fully.
God speed and HOOAH!
I want to thank Lisa Bass for finding a doctor for me in the area. I was told the closest one to me that I could see through the Choice Program was in Georgetown (I live in Arlington) and they didn't have an opening for the initial appointment for a month! I needed a hysterectomy badly due to complications from a previous ablation, and Lisa found a doctor in Bedford that accepted the Choice Program's insurance within a few hours of me contacting her, and the doctor was awesome! I received the surgery I needed and am no longer in excruciating pain! I am forever grateful!
