The true strength of this warship is forged in the daily moments. The shared dedication and quiet camaraderie are what build a family from a crew, and it’s the foundation of everything we do. To the shipmates who are departing, you have made Ramage better. You leave behind a legacy of hard work and improvement, and we are a stronger ship for your service.

I have witnessed sailors putting together their individual capabilities, working together for the first times in tactical scenarios. This is how we build a hungry, war-fighting team. I have been immensely proud to see the massive strides this crew has made these last three weeks in our General Quarters training environments. Every watchstander has shown incredible focus, and your hard work has drastically improved our warfighting capability. What we learn in debriefs, we take with us, we fix, and we take these improvements with us for the next time. I have also seen the Inport Emergency Team drills daily, committing ourselves to preparation for every possible threat to our warship.

Ramage’s dedication to readiness has been on full display this week. Our Combat Systems department is working tirelessly to prepare for the upcoming M-1 maintenance inspections, putting in many unseen overnight hours to align, troubleshoot, and fix systems, setting the conditions for a successful CS LOA. Simultaneously, the entire crew has been sharpening their skills during full days of AT Training stations, ensuring we are educated, prepared, and practiced to defend our ship. Continue this hunger, Team RAMAGE. This is what we are made for.

This week we continued our SAR, MOB-A, and Supply Basic Phase assessments. The level of professionalism on display was outstanding. Every evolution, every watch, every inspection is another step toward sharpening this warship into the combat-ready platform she’s meant to be.

This week we also had the privilege of hosting CAPT O’Connor from IW Squadron 2 and RDML Rhodes from CSG 2. They saw firsthand the grit, discipline, and teamwork that define this crew. Don’t think that your efforts go unnoticed. I see the long hours and commitment that are defining Ramage — it’s making us a lethal team.

Now we shift our focus to next week’s assessments.

Preparation is done. Standards are high. We’re ready to execute.

Last Thursday, the ship celebrated our annual holiday party! This was a wonderful opportunity for our crew to come together and celebrate all of our accomplishments and hard work this past year.

We were able to recognize and congratulate our sailors of the year: CS1 Gonzalez, EM2 Quinn, and FCA3 Miller! Also a special shoutout to STGSN Sales for Warrior of the Month!!

These sailors are the embodiment of what it means to be an outstanding sailor that resembles par excellence. Shout out and thank you to our MWR team who made this night truly a success!

This week RAMAGE started its Total Ship Readiness Assessment (TSRSA) and pre-Aviation Certification, while also kicking off its first maintenance window for 2026. After an exciting underway last week, our crew has a renewed motivation to return back to sea! I’ve been impressed with the work accomplished so far, however, I’m most impressed seeing Sailors yield outstanding, undeniable results.

These Basic Phase assessments allow us to see where we can improve as a crew and as a warship. Last week’s underway made it clear that raising the standard of training on board will keep us at the front of the pack and be an asset to the fleet!

I thank the crew again for all their hard work!

PAR EXCELLENCE!

Ramage Family,

A Proud Return to Sea!

This past weekend marked a tremendous milestone for RAMAGE as we officially concluded our extended maintenance availability and returned to sea for the first time in more than two years!

Our underway was a resounding success, showcasing the remarkable capability of our crew. Their performance was defined by steadfast dedication, absolute precision, remarkable teamwork, and all-around excellence. The crew
flawlessly executed a precision anchorage, conducted day and night small boat operations, calibrated the underwater log, and successfully operated our Damage Control Countermeasure Washdown System.

None of these achievements would have been possible without the immense hard work and dedication of our entire crew over the last few months. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to every Sailor and their families for their
tenacity and grit, which ensured this underway was a complete success!

PAR EXCELLENCE!

This week we successfully completed LOA, getting certification that we are Safe To Light-Off our Engineering Plant. After an extended yards period, this accomplishment was a huge milestone for the crew, making us one step closer to getting underway and getting back in the fight!

I want to thank everyone who has worked hard with the early mornings and late nights. The crew really gave it their all. I am grateful for their commitment to their shipmates and RAMAGE.

I thank not only the hard work of Engineering Department, but all departments and Sailors who supported this successful evolution. It was truly an All Hands effort!

As we begin our Holiday Leave period. From my family, to all of yours I wish you a safe and Happy Holiday season and hope you take the time to get the rest you’ve earned!

Final stretch! This week we have been in the final days of prepping for Light Off Assessment ( LOA ) this is an essential milestone in the ships lifecycle making us one step closer to being ready and operational. All of our sailors have shown grit and determination this week during all of our evolutions to allow us to be ready for LOA. From STO inspections, starting 3 GEN, 1 GTG and our EPCC dance we are ready to start off LOA strong! Our Weapons and Combat Systems teams have continued to work towards ensuring our new systems pass their operability tests and are ready for our upcoming
underways in 2026.

I thank the RAMAGE team for their dedication to their shipmates and this warship. “Giving a Ship” is at the heart of what we do as a crew and we do that every day!
