June is National Safety Month.

Whether you’re on the road, at work, or at home, safety starts with the choices we make every day. From buckling up and staying focused behind the wheel to looking out for those around us, small actions can make a big difference.

🚨🚔 Traffic Hazard Blocking Lanes! 🚗🤩

A pink Power Wheels car became roadway debris, blocking the slow lane on I-210 westbound, just east of Wheatland Ave. Officers responded quickly and cleared the hazard before it caused a collision.

Loose or unsecured items can become dangerous at highway speeds. Please make sure to double check your cargo and make sure everything is safely secured.

A seat belt can be the difference between walking away from a crash and never making it home.

From May 18–31, the California Highway Patrol will participate in the national Click It or Ticket campaign with increased seat belt enforcement. Officers will be stopping drivers and passengers who are not properly buckled up.

Too many lives are lost each year because someone chose not to wear a seat belt. In a crash, being ejected from a vehicle is often deadly, and airbags alone are not enough to protect you.

Buckle up correctly every trip:
✔️ Shoulder belt across your chest
✔️ Lap belt low across your hips
❌ Never behind your back or under your arm

🚨 Speed Enforcement in Effect 🚨

The California Highway Patrol is conducting a Maximum Enforcement Period focused on speeding today. Officers will be out in increased numbers looking for unsafe drivers.

Slow down, buckle up, and drive responsibly. Speeding isn’t worth the ticket, tow, or suspension.

🌎 Earth Day in Action 🌱

In recognition of Earth Day, our partners at Caltrans District 7 conducted cleanup and maintenance efforts along the corridor from Sheldon St. to northbound I-5.

Today’s event also included community leaders who joined the effort to highlight the importance of keeping our highways clean and protecting the environment, including Assemblywoman Celeste Rodriguez and State Senator Caroline Menjivar.

Events like these demonstrate how partnerships between state agencies, elected officials, and the community help keep our roadways cleaner, safer, and more beautiful for everyone who travels through them.

Thank you to the dedicated crews and volunteers who work hard every day to protect our highways and our planet. 🌍🚧
