Today, GPBNet International, through our Founder & CEO, Amb. Konah K.R. Gayetee, and our Volunteer Administrative Officer, Ms. Jewel B. Keh, had the privilege of participating in an inspiring Symposium for Young Entrepreneurs and Women-Led Businesses.

The Symposium provided a powerful platform where ambition met experience, ideas met opportunity, and challenges became pathways to growth. The honest stories of resilience, innovation, setbacks, and success reminded us that sustainable businesses are built through courage, persistence, learning, and purposeful action.

In his additional capacity as Volunteer Program & Partnership Development Officer of the Young Business Leaders Club (YBLC), under the Liberia Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce, Republic of Liberia, Amb. Konah K.R. Gayetee continues to support initiatives that strengthen entrepreneurship, leadership development, Peace-building partnerships, leadership, and inclusive economic development.

The Lone Star: A Symbol of Unity, Identity & National Responsibility

GPBNet International proudly joins the Government and People of Liberia, Liberians at home and abroad, development partners, civil society, young people, and friends of Liberia in celebrating National Flag Day 2026.

Liberia’s National Flag is far more than a national emblem. It represents our sovereignty, independence, national identity, dignity, shared history, unity, and collective responsibility for the future of our country. National Flag Day has been observed annually since the National Legislature formally established August 24 as a national holiday through an Act approved on October 25, 1915.

🇱🇷 A FLAG WITH HISTORY

The Liberian Flag was first hoisted on August 24, 1847, shortly after Liberia declared independence. It was designed and produced by a committee of Liberian women led by Mrs. Susannah Lewis, highlighting the important contribution of women to Liberia's national history.

The flag carries powerful historical symbolism:

11 stripes — representing the eleven signers of Liberia’s Declaration of Independence.

The Lone Star — representing Liberia’s historic status as an independent African republic.

Red — commemorating the sacrifice associated with the struggle for independence.

White — representing purity and clarity of purpose.

Blue — reflecting the African context in which Liberia emerged as a sovereign nation.

🌍 WHY THE FLAG MATTERS

The flag reminds us that national identity is not simply something we inherit—it is something we must protect, strengthen, and pass responsibly to future generations.

To honor Liberia’s flag is therefore to promote:

GPBNet International proudly congratulates Amb. Konah K. R. Gayetee and his global Team on the distinguished international recognition for advancing peacebuilding, diplomacy, leadership, civility and sustainable development.j

Amb. Gayetee was recognized through the Signs of Peace 2026 / Chair of Peace of Assisi initiative, with the international ceremony held on 15 April 2026 at Palazzo Valentini in Rome, Italy. The initiative promotes nonviolence, cultural diplomacy and social cohesion and is aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

He was also honored with an Honorary Diploma in International Peacebuilding, Diplomacy and Leadership, further acknowledging his commitment to peace education, international cooperation, responsible leadership and community transformation.

Additionally, his recognition within the 2026 Royal Civility and World Civility framework as National Civility reflects growing international acknowledgment of his commitment to ethical leadership, civility, dialogue and peaceful coexistence.

These distinctions represent more than individual honors.
