It's Pet Pick Friday and for our staff pick, we have Orion! As named, he hunted down a couple different books for his mother to read. One was inspired by his own noble visage, "The Last Tiger" by Brad and Julia Riew, and the second was inspired by his tremendous roars, "Jurassic Park" by Michael Crichton.

The 2026 Gubernatorial General Election Candidate Forums will be held at Lexington Park Library from October 5, 7, and 8. For all evenings, there will be a Meet & Greet in the Lobby from 4:30-5:30p.m., and the forums will start at 5:40p.m.

The forum on Monday, October 5 will feature candidates for the Judge of the Orphan's Court, Board of Education District 1, Sheriff, and County Commissioner President. Submit your questions for the October 5 forum here: https://forms.gle/fCSnccjPAHUuVSH89

The One Maryland One Book is here!

The 2026 theme is “Revolution, Reaction, Reform.” No Sense in Wishing, is an essay collection from culture critic Lawrence Burney that is a personal and analytical look at his home city of Baltimore, music from throughout the global Black diaspora, and the traditions that raised him.

A book discussion and bookmark craft will be held at the Charlotte Hall Library on Saturday, September 26 from 2-3:30p.m., and a book discussion and freewriting event will be held at the Lexington Park Library on Thursday, October 15 from 6-7:30p.m.
