How Toastmasters Works:
At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. A typical Toastmasters club is made up of 20 to 30 people who meet on a regular basis for about an hour. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice.....
Conducting meetings:
Members learn how to plan and conduct meetings. Giving impromptu speeches:
Memb
ers present 1 - 2 minute impromptu speeches on assigned topics. Presenting prepared speeches:
Three or more members present speeches based on projects from manuals in Toastmasters' proven communication and/or leadership program. Projects cover topics such as speech organization, vocal variety, language, gestures and persuasion. Offering constructive evaluation:
Every prepared speaker is assigned an evaluator who points out speech strengths and offers suggestions for imrovement. Human Services Toastmasters Club 2674 Meeting place:

Hi All. I work with AFS a high school foreign exchange organization. As a fellow Toastmasters, I am wondering if any of you ever considered mentoring/hosting a high school exchange student from Indonesia who wants to work on debating and her oral presentation skills while spending her year in Virginia? Here is a description of her: "Nur who is described as ambitious, diligent, outgoing, and social. She loves participating in group projects, especially if they involve debates and/or oral presentations. One of her biggest dreams is to become a great orator, which is why she has been practicing hard to become more eloquent. Nur attends a boarding school, which she loves, but she is very happy when she gets to spend time with her family. When it comes to leisure time, she enjoys religious activities, reading, listening to pop music, and crafts. She likes sports, too, especially bicycling, running, and gymnastics."
