City of Hartford Michigan In 1963 Hartford officially became a "home-rule city."

Hartford Hardings opened that year, celebrating it's 50th year as the marquee sponsor of this celebration held on Saturday, August 31st; with a parade, music, car show, rides and fireworks!

City of Hartford will be closed on April 3, 2026 in observance of Good Friday.
Payments can be accepted online cityofhartfordmi.org/utilities or put in the City's drop box/mail slot located on the East Side of the building.

McDowell II Apartments located at 55921 County Road 687 Hartford has rental opportunity's available. The rent is based on income and the apartments may be occupied only by very low to moderate income households. The office hours are Wednesday 9am - 1pm. Barrier free units are available.
