VBVRS operates two independent rescue stations every hour of every day: Station 14, located at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, and Station 8, located off of Old Donation Parkway in the Great Neck area of Virginia Beach.

Honoring Our Fallen Heroes

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we enjoy time with family and friends, let us reflect on the true meaning of this day and express our deepest gratitude to those who gave all.

🌡️ The temperature is heating up, Virginia Beach ☀️🔥
This is your reminder to take those extra precautions as the temperature jumps above 90 degrees.

Together we can beat the heat:
💧 Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water! Avoid caffeine, sugary/salty drinks, and alcohol.
👕 Dress Cool – Light, loose, and light-colored clothing is best. Hats, shades, and shorts are all great options!
⛱️ Take Breaks – If working or playing outside, take regular breaks in the shade or indoors. Remember to use sunscreen!
🐶 Check on Others – Look out for coworkers, neighbors, and pets who may be especially vulnerable to the heat.

We’ll be sharing more summer safety tips in the weeks ahead!

For us at the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad, it’s never just about the lights and sirens—it’s about people, purpose, and showing up when it matters most. This calling—has always been built on those willing to step forward and serve.
