To qualify: Must have a New Fairfield library card, be at least 18 years of age, no other comparable internet-enabled computers/laptops in your household, and be in one of select assistance programs (listed upon request). Another week, another batch of new titles to sink your bookworm teeth into...

MEET ME IN THE GARDEN by Nina LaCour-- Secrets and forbidden desires shared between two Creole women in the 1940's, and their divergent lives in a post-war world.

THE SUNFLOWER BOYS by Sam Wachman-- A harrowing lgbt novel set during the Russo-Ukrainian War. Identity and brotherly bonds make up this deeply moving bildungsroman that has been receiving lots of praise.

BRAIN DAMAGE by Freida McFadden-- Another twisty psychological thriller from the genre savant herself asks, "How can you survive when you can't remember who wants you dead?"

Did someone say "psychological thriller?" Because we also have the latest release from Gillian McAllister with THAT NIGHT, which introduces readers to three siblings vacationing in Italy, one murder, and the lengths we'll go to for those we love. And lastly, we have PROMISE ME NEVER by Liv Constantine, and two new mysteries from William Kent Krueger and Nina Simon. We had such a blast at our County Fair this weekend! Thank you to the over 1,000 people who participated in our summer reading program this year. We hope you had the best time. We already can't wait for next year!

This just in...

'Cool Machine', the conclusion to Colson Whitehead's much lauded Harlem Trilogy, is 1980's New York in all its gritty, electrifying glory.

Next up we have 'Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt' by Ben Reeves. If this one isn't on your list, add it! Already generating lots of buzz, this novel about Death learning the meaning of life, is sure to move you.

'Fruit Fly' by Josh Silver is a BBC 'Must-Read of 2026'. This darkly-humorous novel about a washed-up author appropriating a young gay man's tragic story, will be an unforgettable one.

'Trash!' a memoir by Simon Pare-Poupart, chronicles his time as a garbageman in Montreal.

We also have the latest from Riley Sager with 'The Unknown,' which will be perfect for spooky season, 'All That is Left of Life' by Roberta Recchia (a mulit-copy selling sensation in Italy), and so many more books for you to discover.

Ever wonder what a Death Doula is/does? Or, if you've never heard the term, and are curious to find out...

Join us at the library Wednesday, August 12th @ 5:30PM, where we'll be welcoming a certified End-of-Life carer (or, 'Death Doula'), Becca. This free, 90-minute interactive gathering invites participants to explore the often-avoided topics of death and dying in a welcoming, supportive environment. Using a thought-provoking card game filled with multiple-choice and open-ended questions, we’ll spark curiosity, laughter, and meaningful dialogue about life’s ultimate transition. Together, we’ll create space for reflection, connection, and conversation that goes beyond the surface.
