In the excitement of graduation season, be sure to pay extra attention to your celebratory Mylar balloons. Tie or weigh them down to prevent them from floating away and interfering with power lines.

Before you say goodbye to your balloons, fully deflate them to ensure no helium remains inside. Even small amounts can cause them to drift away! 🎈

We continue to closely track the Garden Grove incident and the evacuations in west Anaheim.

We’re asking residents in the Anaheim evacuation area to be prepared to be out of their homes for the next 24 to 36 hours.

A care and reception center is open at Savanna High School, 301 N. Gilbert St., where pets are welcome.

OC Animal Care is also open to house dogs, cats and small pets for OC Animal Care service area residents under evacuation.

Evacautions are out of an abundance of caution.
 
At this time, we do not have an estimate of when the Anaheim evacuations will be lifted.

The event emphasized the importance of water conservation and provided attendees with an opportunity to learn about water facilities, services, and more through engaging activities.

Don’t let a stray Mylar balloon spoil the moment. If released, metallic-coated balloons that drift into power lines can cause outages in the surrounding community.

Always keep Mylars secured and fully deflate them before throwing them away.
