Libraries of all types are SWFLN members - public libraries (including one tribal library system), academics, schools, and special libraries. The maintenance of this website is funded under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act and the Library Cooperative Grant program. Floridaโ€™s LSTA and LCG programs are administered by the Department of Stateโ€™s Division of Library and Information Services.

Great news for Charlotte County Libraries & History!

We're thrilled to announce that Mid-County Regional Library will reopen to the public on Monday, May 11!

๐Ÿ“2050 Forrest Nelson Blvd., Port Charlotte

All are invited to a formal grand reopening and ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 11. Then stay to explore the building, check out the new collection, and enjoy photo ops, makerspace demonstrations, and activities. Attendees can also receive a commemmorative pin, free while supplies last.

The festivities continue on Saturday, May 16 at our all-day Community Celebration! Join us for refreshments, giveaways, tours, and activities for all ages, including special story times for our littlest patrons.

It's been a long road to recovery, and we can't wait to welcome you home to our county's main library as a new chapter begins!
