So very sorry to hear of Mr. Malone’s passing. He was a visionary who will be sorely missed. His legacy will live on, especially in Leesburg. 🇺🇸❤️
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved founder, Michael Kevin Malone. Kevin, the visionary behind Fire Works Pizza and five other award-winning establishments, departed us on Saturday, leaving behind a legacy of culinary excellence and community spirit. He was 69.
Kevin was not just a restaurateur; he was a father, a friend, and a beacon of generosity. His passion for good food, his commitment to service, and his unwavering love for his community made him a local legend. He leaves an indelible mark on the industry, one that will be cherished for generations.
His funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 13, at 1:00pm at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Purcellville, VA, followed by a celebration of his remarkable life at Birkby House, beginning at 2:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Purcellville, VA.

Gracie says 3 Awooooooooooo’s for the Governor signing the Beagle Protection Bills today!
Thank you BOTH sides for coming together to protect these innocent babies.
There is still much work to be done to stop beagles from being used as test subjects in labs but these bills are a huge start and will hit the breeders in VA where it hurts!

Had a productive but short trip to Richmond for VML Local government day and advocating for Leesburg.
Special thanks to the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security, Deputy Attorney General -Criminal Division, Deputy Secretary of Administration, and the Delegates and Senators that made time to meet with both Leesburg and Purcellville council members!
It was so wonderful meeting other local governments from Towns and Counties all over the State.
Virginia really is the best state! ❤️

Hard to believe it’s been 20 years since the day that changed our Nation and our lives forever.
Take pause today and Remember.
Teach someone who wasn’t alive yet or doesn’t know about the bravery and heroism and sacrifice that day. The 343 firemen who ran in to save people in the towers and never came out. The 71 Police Officers, the
flight crews and passengers, the moms, dads, brothers, sisters, and children who didn’t make it home.
Remember 9/12/01 when you couldn’t get an American flag at any store because they were all sold out and hanging outside every home and business. Put them out again today.
And Never Forget 9/11/01 🇺🇸❤️

I was honored to attend and listen to this outstanding training by Chief Brown today. It applies to all levels of Public Servants and was educational and inspiring!
Chief Brown and the members of the Leesburg Police Department continue to invest in the development of future generations of law enforcement leaders. Today, the Chief taught the course ‘Serving a Diverse Society’ to the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy recruits, members of the Leesburg Town Council, and members of the Indiana State Police.
Chief Brown teaches this course to all NVCJTA basic law enforcement recruits from the 17 Northern Virginia member agencies every academy session and has done so since January 2015. This important course focuses on topics such as implicit and explicit bias, diversity, and procedural justice.
In addition to this course, all NVCJTA recruits visit Leesburg for a one-day course on the Leesburg Police Department’s successful methods of Community Policing. Chief Brown and the women and men of the LPD are proud to be guardians of such a diverse community.
