Sen. Bellino represents most of Monroe, Lenawee, and Hillsdale counties in MI's 16th Senate district.

Joe Bellino has been a lifelong resident and community leader of Monroe County, from growing up there in the 1960s and 70s to representing it now. He is married to Peggy Bellino and they have three daughters and six grandkids. Joe knows how hard work pays off, from growing up in a 25’x30′ cottage in Detroit Beach, to owning and operating a successful party store, Joe has worked every day to improv

e the lives of his family and the people of his community. It hasn’t always been easy, but Joe brings a unique outlook to the problems that southeast Michigan is experiencing.

Had a great time at grand opening of the Arthur Lesow Community Center. The ALCC, (120 Eastchester St, Monroe, MI) is a 28,000-square-foot facility and is free to the public.

The new $9.3 million facility brings together several organizations under one roof, including programs that offer free adult education, GED preparation, and workforce certification training.

This project has been years in the making, with planning dating back to 2019. Funding was provided primarily by the State of Michigan, with the City of Monroe contributing $2 million toward the project.

Last Friday, I joined Mr. Netter’s class at St. Joseph’s. They won my reading contest, so we celebrated with a pizza party. These kids were incredibly polite and well behaved!

Today, I presented UFAM with a tribute for their 10th annual rally at the Capitol. As an addict in recovery, I proudly stand with those fighting addiction, supporting recovery, and reminding people that every life has value and every story matters.

Last week, I was in Hillsdale County for the Economic Rural Summit, talking with local leaders about energy, workforce, housing, and keeping Michigan competitive.

We also toured Cobra AERO/Vertical Autonomy with Congressman Walberg. This company is one of the world’s leaders in drone technology, and it’s right here in our own backyard.

I was also proud to speak at the rally for CPS and foster care reform. Thank you to everyone who shared their stories and continues to push for real, lasting change for Michigan’s children.

Sen. Joseph Bellino announced on Wednesday the appointment of Josh Stump to serve as his new chief of staff.

“I am excited to have Josh join our team as my new chief of staff,” said Bellino, R-Monroe. “As a native of our district with legislative experience working in the district, he understands the issues facing our communities and will be an effective voice for them as we work to improve our state and the lives of all our families and workers.”
