The Center for a Healthy Maryland is the non profit affiliate of MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society. The Centersupports the study of medicine and diffusion of medical knowledge through the continuing medical education of physicians, providing programs to maintain the wellness of practicing physicians serving the public, preserving and learning from the past history of medical care in Maryland, and educating the public about medical issues, and promoting public health programs.

225 years ago on June 3rd, the Medical & Chirurgical Faculty of the State of Maryland held their very first meeting. Last night, The Center for a Healthy Maryland had the privilege of hosting the MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, 225th anniversary - MedChi Museum of Maryland Medical History, Grand Opening! Special thanks to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Youth group for playing at this event.
After 225 years, MedChi has finally opened a Museum of Maryland Medical History! We specifically chose the date of Monday, June 3 to celebrate exactly 225 years to the date of the first meeting of the 101 Founders of the Medical & Chirurgical Faculty of the State of Maryland. It is spelled out in the original charter documents, which we were able to see at the 225th Celebration and Proclamations in Annapolis in January of this year. After an extensive search, the Center for a Healthy Maryland, the Foundation of MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, welcomes Allan Browder, Jr. as the Executive Director. Allan was the Program Director at the United Networks of America, and currently on the Corporate Advisory Board of Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. He brings more than a decade of experience to the Center. Allan started on November 1, 2023, and a few of you met him at the MedChi House of Delegates on October 28th.
