As EMS Week comes to a close, we want to recognize all EMS providers for their dedication and service to the community each and every day.
This week kept our members busy with multiple calls for service, along with several standbys, including coverage for the Peddie School graduation ceremony. Congratulations to the Peddie graduates on this outstanding accomplishment!
We also proudly participated in both the Hightstown and Cranbury Memorial Day parades honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Prior to lineup for the Hightstown parade, our crew responded to a call in the Borough, and during the Cranbury parade another crew left the procession to answer an emergency call.
Thank you to our members, communities we are proud to serve and those who have fought so bravely for our county.

Yesterday, our agency joined more than 30 other agencies for a full scale training exercise at Trenton-Mercer Airport. This exercise focused on patient care and the operational response involved in mass casualty incidents. Whether responding to an incident at the airport or closer to home, this training helped our crews and our partner agencies sharpen their skills and strengthen coordination to ensure our residents have the best possible chance of survival.

Meet the Fleet!
Utility 141 serves as a first responder vehicle for the Hightstown First Aid Squad, allowing our senior members to arrive on scene quickly and begin providing care when an ambulance may be delayed. By getting help to patients sooner, Utility 141 plays a critical role in improving response times and delivering immediate medical assistance when it matters most.
On larger incidents, it can also be used as a command post to help coordinate and manage incoming resources, ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Equipped with 4x4 capability, Utility 141 provides added confidence during adverse weather conditions. It carries much of the same equipment found on an ambulance, allowing our crew to assess, stabilize, and begin treatment prior to transport.
Utility 141 also has the capability to tow trailers, which is especially valuable during large community events such as the Hightstown Family Fair when we borrow UTVs. This allows our team to better navigate crowded or hard to reach areas and provide timely care throughout the event.
In addition to responding to calls for service, Utility 141 is also used by our members to attend trainings, meetings, and community events; supporting both emergency readiness and ongoing education.
This vehicle was made possible through generous donations from local businesses. While some features such as the rear cabinets were not included in the initial budget, they were proudly designed and built by our dedicated volunteers, showcasing the commitment and resourcefulness of our squad.

Last night’s crew responded to an MVC on the Turnpike. While in route, the assignment was upgraded to include a vehicle fire. Upon arrival of the first units, two patients were identified. The first patient was transported by Ambulance 40 while our crew assess the second who ultimately refused transport to a hospital. We wish a speedy recovery to all those involved.

Meet our Fleet!
Ambulance 4112 is a 2016 Ford E450 up fitted by Road Rescue. 4112 was acquired through insurance funds after the previous truck was involved in an accident. That truck was paid for by donations. Our volunteers fundraised from local businesses and even went door to door to make it happen. No tax dollars were used to purchase the current or previous 4112.
When designing this ambulance, our members looked over every detail from the sirens, emergency lights, bumpers, security system, patient compartment cameras, shelving, enhanced HVAC system, reflective decals and much more with our crews and residents in mind. One unique feature of this ambulance is the custom second bench seat in the back. This allows us to transport additional patients and family members from the scene.
Since 2016, 4112 has been a source of pride for our members, who continue to maintain it with the highest standards. It is currently certified by the New Jersey First Aid Council.
