Ute Water Conservancy District Domestic Water Provider in the Grand Valley of Mesa County, Colorado It is very rare that we have to enforce our social media policy.

Ute Water Conservancy District was established in 1956 by a decree of the Mesa County Court system. The purpose of the District’s inception was to supply domestic water service to the rural areas of the Grand Valley under the “Water Conservancy Act” of Colorado. Ute Water is governed by a 14 member, judge appointed, Board of Directors and employs around 70 employees. The service boundaries encompa

ss approximately 260 square miles within Mesa County, covering the area between Cameo, Colorado and the Colorado/Utah State-line. The service area includes the areas in and around the City of Grand Junction, Town of Fruita, Town of Palisade and the unincorporated Towns of Clifton, Loma and Mack. The District treats and supplies domestic water through nearly 1,500 miles of distribution lines to over 80,000 consumers, making it the largest domestic water provider between Denver, Colorado and Salt Lake City, Utah. Historic drought conditions require proactive action to protect our water supply now and preserve flexibility for the future.

Drought rates will apply to July bills for June water usage. These rates are designed to encourage conservation during critically dry conditions and help reduce pressure on limited water resources.
