The Edison Police Department and the Edison PBA would like to thank everyone who made it out to Lake Papaianni today for the annual Cops vs. Kids Baseball Game. Yet again, the Edison PBA suffered defeat at the hands of Team Buddy Ball. Despite the demoralizing loss, the Edison PBA was able to present Buddy Ball of Edison with a check for $2,000.

Special thank you to Autism NJ, Your Choice Home Care and the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office for attending the game.

Thank you to Sgt. Matthew Mieczkowski and PBA
President Michael Piperato for coordinating yet another successful event.

Today, the Edison Police Unity Tour team completed their 3rd Annual Edison Remembers Ride—a 30-mile ride through Edison stopping at the locations where Ptl. Dudash and Ptl. Papaianni were tragically killed in the line of duty. The team, lead by team captain Lt. Turner visited 12 schools, where the children cheered them on as they rode by.

This Sunday, they begin a nearly 300-mile ride, with stops in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and finish at the Police Memorial in Washington D.C. As a team, they ride in honor of Patrolmen Dudash and Papaianni, but each rider also rides for a chosen officer who gave their life in the line of duty.

Thank you Mayor Sam Joshi, Chief Tom Bryan, Deputy Chief Dudash, many elected officials of Edison Township and Middlesex County, who attended the memorial today, along with our friends and families.

Best of luck Team Edison !

Today, on National Therapy Dog Day, we proudly recognize two very special members of our department — Tibby and Sulley 🐾💙

These incredible therapy dogs do so much more than wear a badge. They bring comfort during difficult moments, smiles during stressful days, and a sense of calm to everyone they meet — from members of our community to our own officers.

Whether it’s visiting schools, supporting victims, or simply being there when someone needs it most, Tibby and Sulley remind us of the power of compassion and connection.

Thank you both for the paws-itive impact you make every single day. 🐶

**2 Available Spots**

The Edison Police Department is proud to celebrate Autism Acceptance during the month of April.

As part of our continuing efforts to utilize Autism Friendly practices, we are holding a Safe Traffic Stops Event on May 2nd for Edison residents on the Autism Spectrum.
Please contact Sgt Mieczkowski via phone at 732-248-7470 or via email at [email protected].

In addition to this event, the Edison Police Department continues to utilize the Blue Envelope Program. This program provides a secure storage for essential documents like a driver’s license, registration, insurance card, and emergency contacts. It also provides clear instructions for drivers with Autism Spectrum Disorder, highlighting where to keep the envelope, how to communicate with others, and how to respond to a stop.

Please call or email Sgt Mieczkowski for further details.

We also invite you to check out our website for information on our Public Safety Alliance For Individuals With Disabilities (Public Safety A.I.D.). The link provided will direct you to the Edison Police Department website and you can click on the Public Safety A.I.D. tab:
www.edisonnj.gov/departments/public_safety/ police_division.php

This is a no cost, voluntary service open to any individual with a disability who resides, works, or attends school in Middlesex County. The purpose of the database is to help law enforcement and first responders better assist residents with a disability in an emergency situation or during a police encounter.

Chief Thomas Bryan and the Edison Police Department are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all Edison residents.
