Today marks two years since the violent assault on our nationโs democracy.
As we honor the officers who died or were injured as a result of defending a free and fair election, we must continue to ensure that all insurrectionists are held accountable.
๐
The outpouring of love and support for Damar Hamlin has been incredible to see.
I continue to send prayers to Damar and the Buffalo Bills during this difficult time.
The thoughts and prayers of all of Bills Mafia are supporting you, Damar. ๐
A new year and a new term in the New York State Senate. I appreciate all of the support, and my thanks to the Buffalo History Museum for hosting today's swearing-in ceremony.
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.
It is certainly an unusual Christmas for Buffalo and WNY. I know many families are not together today because of the blizzard, mine included. We will all be reconnected soon.
Thank you to all the first responders, plow drivers, national guard units, utility workers, and everyone who has braved the storm to help others. Please stay off the roads and let crews get to work.
Photo from last night in the Elmwood Village. Merry Christmas ๐
Wishing a very Happy to all who are celebrating.
May this year's 8 nights of Hanukkah traditions bring light, joy, and a renewed sense of hope for the year ahead.
A decade later, we remember the innocent lives lost at Sandy Hook.
We must work every day to honor the memory of those who were killed by making real meaningful change to stop gun violence. That's exactly what we've done in New York, and that's my commitment as a NYS legislator.
People all over the state and the world today remembered those we lost 10 years ago at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Thank you to President Biden, Majority Leader Schumer, and Speaker Pelosi for leading the way and making the Respect for Marriage Act the law of the land!
A historic day for the + community. As we move forward, I will continue to work every day to advance and protect equality here in New York ๐ณ๏ธโ๐๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ
"Marriage is a simple proposition: Who do you love and will you be loyal to that person you love? It's not more complicated than that," the president said.
This week my office will be distributing free home weatherization kits from National Fuel at local libraries.

Happy Thanksgiving! ๐ฆ๐ฅง
Make no mistake, attacks like this are inspired by rhetoric from politicians and others who demonize and marginalize the LGBTQ+ community.
As we mourn for the people of Colorado Springs, we must always call out this hate.
Lily Forsell remembers taking in the scene of the dance floor at Club Q as she was leaving Saturday after a night celebrating her 18th birthday -- dozens of people were laughing, singing and dancing like they always did after the evening's drag show.
WNY is facing a major winter storm over the next few days. As always, make sure you are prepared.
๐จ Get what you need before the snow starts
โ ๏ธ Pay attention to weather alerts and travel warnings
๐ Check in on homebound and elderly family and neighbors
Stay safe WNY!
On this , we take time to honor the service of those who have worn our nation's uniform.
Thank you for stepping up to bravely defend our great democracy.
Happy Halloween!
Have fun and stay safe ๐๐ท๏ธ๐ป๐ญ๐ง๐งโโ๏ธ

Thanks to Griffis Sculpture Park & The Essex Arts Center and ECHDC for working to make this installation a reality.

Yesterday I spoke on a resolution sponsored by my colleague, Senator Tim Kennedy, honoring the life of Bruce Kogan - a proud adopted Buffalonian. Bruce was a staunch advocate for the LGBTQ community, but he did it with a smile and a kind voice. People could not escape a meeting with him without recognizing his humanity. He was generous in spirit and generous in action. I will miss him for what he taught me and his special way of advocacy.
