The countdown is on it's less than 24 hours until the gates open! We can't wait to welcome you to this year's 1960s-themed Firemen's Ball. Before you boogie the night away, please take a moment to review our parking information.

Due to the ongoing construction at the school, parking arrangements have changed for this year's event.

Handicap Parking
Limited handicap parking will be available at the lower level of the firehouse on Route 39 North. Because space is limited, this area is reserved for vehicles displaying a valid handicap placard or license plate.

Guest Parking
All other guest parking will be at Holy Trinity. A shuttle will be running throughout the evening to bring guests to and from the firehouse. You're also welcome to drop off passengers at the firehouse before parking at Holy Trinity.

Please help us by not parking on the Sherman Green, as those spaces are reserved for our local businesses.

Doors open at 4:30 PM, and dinner will be served at 6:30 PM.

Picking Up a To-Go Meal?
Please head to the table on the lower level of the firehouse by the large garage doors. Our volunteers will be distributing to-go meals from that location.

Thanks for helping us keep things running smoothly. Now grab your grooviest attire, and get ready for a far-out evening of great food, music, and fun. We can't wait to see you there!

If you haven't purchased your tickets yet, you can buy them until 10:00 tonight from https://shermanvfd.org Tickets will be available at the gate as well until we sell out.

Positive outcome for all involved and a great example showing the benefits of training and working together. The terrain combined with the distance that the patient needed to be carried made this a task that would be a challenge for a single department on a cool day. Toss in high heat and it goes from challenging to impossible without the help from mutual aid.

It was a busy Fourth of July night for the SVFD. A severe thunderstorm moved through southern Sherman and the surrounding area. Numerous trees and wires came down throughout town, notably blocking Route 37, preventing traffic from using that road to move between Sherman and New Fairfield. Members responded to multiple locations closing affected roads. Eversource was notified to clear debris and make repairs.

At the same time, SVFD members worked through the night responding to mutual aid calls. These included carbon monoxide incidents, structure fires, and emergencies on Candlewood Lake.

Never drive over or near downed power lines. Always assume they are live.

If you are operating a generator, please make sure that you have working carbon monoxide alarms.

If you have an emergency, dial 911, and we will respond.
