Join Ferguson Township for the KABOOM! Build Day at Autumnwood Park on Saturday, August 15. Volunteers are needed to help assemble the new community‑designed playground. All experience levels are welcome.

Taking CATA? Use the CC route to stop #307 inbound or stop #308 outbound — it’s about a 15‑minute walk to the park.

Autumnwood Park Playground Update 🛝

Beginning July 27th, the existing playground equipment will be removed and pit prep will begin at Autumnwood Park as Ferguson Township prepares to build a brand new playground in partnership with KABOOM! and the Pennsylvania Municipal League. The playground area will be closed to the public until August 15th.

Volunteers of all experience levels are needed August 13–15 to help build the new playground. Builders, registration volunteers, food volunteers, and First Aid/CPR/AED certified volunteers are all welcome. Community members are encouraged to sign up for one, two, or all three days. All volunteers will be provided with breakfast, lunch, water, gloves, safety materials, and a t-shirt to wear during the build.

Help make a lasting impact in the community by providing a great new place for kids to play! Learn more and sign up here: https://volunteer.kaboom.org/opportunity/a7XPK0000001YCX2A2/help-build-a-new-playspace-at-autumnwood-park

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service teamed up with CATA to make one of our bus shelters safer for local birds!

This simple window film helps birds see the glass and avoid collisions. The best part? You can do this at home too! Many bird friendly window treatments are low-cost, DIY, and use materials you might already have.

Special thanks to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for providing all materials at no cost and showing our community how simple bird friendly improvements can be.

Additional thanks to everyone who helped with the installation, including CATA staff and volunteers from Bird Town Pennsylvania of the Borough of State College and Bird Safe Penn State.
