In this role you will work as a member of our ICS team to provide short term crisis services to individuals in our community. This position will provide collaborative, strengths based, trauma informed care to adults and/or youth and their families who are experiencing a mental health crisis. You will assist individuals and families by evaluating, providing support and connecting to resources and services in the community in collaboration with community providers and resources in order to assess and/or
provide the appropriate level of care.

Over 225 backpacks filled with school supplies will be given away at El Concilio (2501 Millcork St. in Kalamazoo) on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 1-3 p.m.

The back-to-school giveaway is hosted by Somos Votantes, one of the largest independent Latino civic engagement programs in the country. In addition to the backpack giveaway, $7,500 in gift cards will also be given away. There will also be a resource fair that will connect families with local agencies.

“(The purpose is) to provide practical support during a crucial time when school costs pile up, helping families access essential supplies without sacrificing basics like groceries or rent ... This initiative reflects Somos’ commitment to supporting working families who power local economies while facing increasing financial pressures.”
