YSB is honored to be the chosen beneficiary of this year's Jay County Chainsaw Carving Invitational!

The event is scheduled for Sept. 11-13th, at the Jay County Fair (806 E Votaw St, Portland IN).

Events include a free Friday night movie, free Saturday night concert, vendors, a carving exhibition with 8 carvers, and a Sunday carving auction!

We hope to see you there!

YSB is currently hiring a Full-Time KARSS/SP Coordinator!

Duties as coordinator for the Keeping-At-Risk-Students-in-School & Safe Place programs include:

- Maintain appointments with youth daily or as often as schedule will permit.
- Meet with the family as needed, but at least monthly, with appointments set up one week in advance.
- Organize, schedule, transport to and from, and assist youth with community service activity.
- Provide youth with academic assistance through tutoring and helping them with homework, as needed, to insure improved academic success.
- Responsible for maintaining and recruiting safe place sites throughout the county
- Present Safe Place trainings to proposed/interested sites

"During the drop portion it was fun to watch the teams slowly unfold their egg and learn their fate. Did their egg survive, or would it be destined for the compost pile?"

We are grateful to share that Karla Eberle, Clinical Director, and PJ Corwin, Executive Director, recently received a generous check from Jay County REMC’s Operation Round Up Program. These funds were used to purchase five car seats, which will help our Home-based Family Services team safely transport the young clients we serve.

A heartfelt thank you to Neil Draper, President/CEO, Mark Tillman, REMC Board Member and Operation Round Up trustee, and the entire Jay County REMC team. Your continued support of YSB makes a meaningful difference in the lives of local families!

Our Blackford, Jay and Randolph Healthy Families program recently attended the 8th Annual Randolph County "Touch the Truck" event!

Thank you to The Portland Foundation for their support of our Home-based Family Services Program and our Healthy Families Program. The money awarded through this grant will directly help clients in both programs with concrete needs that will further help to ensure their success in the program. Our community is very fortunate to have such a healthy community foundation with the ability to help so many local programs and people!

YSB is currently hiring a Part-Time Facilities Manager!

Duties include:
- Routine inspection of all YSB structures and grounds
- Keeping the agency and facilities yards cut and free of grass clippings
- Seasonal preparation of furnaces, windows, and agency grounds
- Overseeing the maintenance of all YSB vehicles, fueling and complete timely safety inspections
