A great visit to Casa Italiana - Italian Cultural Center in Seattle for our Executive Director, who had the opportunity to learn more about their operations, programs, and approach to serving the Italian-American community—and explore ways the organizations can share learnings and best practices.

A special thank you to Board President Martin Nigrelle for taking the time to meet and share his insights. We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn from one another, and strengthen our shared commitment to the Italian-American community.

🇮🇹❤️ Behind every Ferragosto Care Package, there is a community.

Last Friday, our amazing ICS volunteers came together to prepare, pack, and load approximately 160 Ferragosto Care Packages for members of our senior community.
From carefully putting each package together to loading them into cars for delivery, every step is an expression of care, generosity, and community spirit.

And behind every package is a simple message:

You are remembered. You are cared for. You are part of our community. ❤️

A heartfelt grazie to all of our volunteers who give their time and energy to help us keep Italian traditions alive while bringing a little taste of Ferragosto—and a lot of warmth—to our community.

🇮🇹❤️ Dietro ogni Ferragosto Care Package c’è una comunità.
Venerdì scorso, i nostri fantastici volontari dell’ICS si sono riuniti per preparare, imballare e caricare circa 160 pacchi regalo di Ferragosto per i membri della nostra comunità di anziani.

Dalla cura con cui viene preparato ogni pacco al momento in cui viene caricato in auto per la consegna, ogni gesto è un’espressione di attenzione, generosità e spirito di comunità.

E dietro ogni pacco c’è un messaggio semplice:

Non siete dimenticati. Ci prendiamo cura di voi. Siete parte della nostra comunità. ❤️

Un sentito grazie a tutti i nostri volontari che dedicano il loro tempo e le loro energie per aiutarci a mantenere vive le tradizioni italiane e a portare un po’ del sapore del Ferragosto—e tanto calore umano—nella nostra comunità.

A beautiful reminder that Ferragosto is not only about celebrating summer — it’s about community, generosity, and making sure no one feels alone.

Celebrate Italian Heritage Day in the Parachini Italian Heritage Room!
This fall, the San Francisco Italian Heritage Parade is returning on Sunday, October 11th, 2026. Contact ICS if you are interested in renting our event space to celebrate the big day.

We are excited that the newly expanded view from the Parachini Italian Heritage Room at Casa Fugazi includes a view of the parade route in the heart of North Beach! Combined with expansive views of the bay and the iconic Fleet Week airshow, this is the place to be on October 11th.

If your organization, group, or family is interested in renting our event space during the parade or another date during Fleet Week, please contact us for more details.

A.P. Giannini was a visionary Italian American leader and philanthropist—and a founding board member of Italian Community Services in 1916. We are proud to be part of the lasting legacy he helped create.
