❤️ Welcome Home, Gentlemen. ❤️
Today we give thanks to the Lord for the safe return of Major Joe Burton and Corps Sergeant-Major Joe Gonzales from serving our neighbors affected by the devastating floods in the Texas Hill Country.
When disaster strikes, they don't hesitate. They answer the call.
Whether it's providing hot meals, distributing relief supplies, offering a listening ear, or praying with those facing unimaginable loss, these men exemplify what it means to wear the Red Shield with humility, compassion, and unwavering faith.
It has been an honor to work alongside leaders who don't simply direct the mission, they live it. They lead from the front, serve with their hands, and remind us that hope is more than a message...it's an action.
The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Services exists because of servants like these, who are willing to leave the comfort of home to be the hands and feet of Christ wherever they are needed.
Please join me in thanking God for their safe return and in praying for every Salvation Army officer, employee, volunteer, and partner who continues to answer the call to serve communities in need.
Welcome home, Major Burton, Corps Sergeant-Major Gonzales and EDS Volunteer and Advisory Board Member Darrin Donovan. Thank you for answering the call of the Red Shield.
"Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me." — Matthew 25:40
