🐸💚 Frogtastic News from Owen Marsh Elementary ! 💚🐸

Today, our Owen Marsh families and staff hopped over to make their mark—literally! 🖊️✨ Everyone was invited to sign the final beam that will be installed during tomorrow’s Topping Out Ceremony, marking a major milestone in our school's exciting build!

This tradition celebrates the placement of the last steel beam—and our Marsh community showed UP to be part of the moment!

A huge shoutout to O’Shea Builders for helping make this beam dream come true!

REMINDER: FREE BREAKFAST & LUNCH!🍞❤🥑🥦

This program is offered so children ages 1-18 can eat free meals during the summer. Children do not have to attend Springfield Public Schools. Adult meals will be provided at a nominal fee for Breakfast and Lunch. The meals are completely funded through the USDA Summer Food Service Program and are available to any child who chooses to participate.

This summer, Camp Compass served 300 District 186 campers with high-quality, engaging programming designed to keep students learning, growing, and thriving — even when school’s out!🎉

From exciting enrichment activities to supportive mentoring and creative fun, Camp Compass continues to make a real difference for the students who need it most.

Today, Matheny-Withrow hosted the annual Stakeholders Breakfast, where guests got a firsthand look at Camp Compass in action. From classroom tours to student smiles, every moment showed the power of community investment in our youth.

📣 We’re so grateful to Compass for Kids, our site teams, and every champion who supports this program. Together, we are lifting up young lives and building a brighter future.

👶🏽🎒 While at Matheny-Withrow, Superintendent Jennifer Gill also visited with our Camp Kindergarten students, who are gearing up for their very first year of school! These rising scholars are building confidence, friendships, and a love of learning—all before the first day of class.

Our day kicked off with a fresh & healthy breakfast thanks to our amazing Food Service team—fueling up for a day full of creativity and connection!

From crafting cool hand fans to drawing and coloring their imaginations out, our students are putting their artistic talents on full display! Then it’s time to head outside for some fresh air and outdoor fun—because summer’s for MOVING and MAKING MEMORIES. 🌳
