pdXpedition is an exciting, competitive way to tour the Portland area, using clues, hints and keen, local knowledge, to navigate you and your teammate’s path to Victory! (Think Amazing Race meets Portlandia)
A tremendous ‘Team Building’ exercise for firms or simply to get together with friends and/or family members for a fun day of getting to know popular and not so well-known sites, in and around beautiful and interesting Portland, Oregon. Try to outwit your fellow competitors utilizing the ‘clues’ established by the local design team to reach the finish line in the lowest overall time. Tasks along the route race offer extra incentive to lower your time, to prove to your friends, co-workers and members of your family that you have what it takes to come out on top in a fun, competitive atmosphere. BRAGGING RIGHTS are everything…don’t you agree?!?
The race routes vary and take you to some out of the way, interesting places, or to well-known destinations, usually with a ‘twist’ to impart fascinating facts that even long-time Portlanders may not have known.
For example:
Did you know that the designer of the Sacajewea statue in famed
Washington Park, has the same name as a makeup wearing
Rock and roller of impressive fame?
Didn’t think so….
The routes take you to all kinds of areas that you may or may not be familiar with. Teams of 2-4 people make their way through the Portland metro area on foot or via public transportation only. No personal cars or taxi cabs or even bikes are allowed to complete your tasks! Knowing which route, which order and when to use your feet as opposed to MAX or Tri-Met, can be just as vital as getting the clues deciphered quickly and efficiently. Of course, along the way, you may be asked to perform certain physical tasks to lower your time. Nothing too strenuous, but the difficulty may vary from team to team…competitor to competitor.
So, come and join the eXciting, eXhilirating and even sometimes eXhausting eXperience of a pdXpedition race against the other teams. Most competitions last 3-4 hours, but pdXpedition certainly can tailor races and routes to whatever the competitors desire. Less time…more time, we can make it work for your wants and needs.
Book early for best times for races as the pdXpedition season gets movin’!
